I’m moderate/independent and I would be ok with Harris or Rice. Not ok with Warren. |
I'm a moderate democrat married to a moderate republican. I see no problem with Harris and the ones i know who i know do are leftists. Warren is the one who will scare everyone off, not Harris. I don't see any of the names I have heard rumours about who would be a tenable candidate in 2024 except Harris. |
Warren would be a terrible choice. I really wish none of Biden, Sanders, or Warren had run for the nomination. They should have left it to younger politicians. I want Biden to win to get rid of Trump but I also think he will set the party back for years. |
How about the - I know how to get shit done theme, and I even tried to tell this administration how to handle the exact epidemic we are all suffering from - theme? |
People like Cuomo because he is demonstrating improvement, rational discussion, and serving as somewhat of a light house figure in a sea of underdeveloped leaders guided by a chaotic maniac. They see that he is progressing, and knows how to articulate it. They like that he stands without threat or fear with Trump. And - he simplified everything into little bitty points that people can digest and understand. |
^^Definitely agree with you, and I said so here a million times. |
I'm a moderate Republican (tend to vote about 50/50 between the parties) and I agree. My spouse is a moderate Democrat (tends to vote about 70/30 democratic) and agrees. I know many local MD moderates at various degrees between slightly R and slightly D and the majority agree. Warren is not a good candidate for the VP. There are other good places for her in seniors staff or Cabinet positions, but not as VP. I personally think she would hurt the ticket, would be the most destructive to the ticket, and would be the most likely to destroy the polling leads that Biden current has. She is net negative for critical battleground states, in values, regional popularity and in demographics. She is viewed as an elitist, white, East Coast progressive and offers very little for the majority of the swing states. |
We need someone who loves country, a higher power and this earth above anyone or anything else. Cross off those without this agenda....Harris namely. Anyone else? |
What makes you think Kamala isnt religous? |
Uh, no. That’s the last thing we need. |
Rice is a hard pass for us. |
Same. She is too hawkish. |
She has demonstrated how she won’t protect religious rights....read up on the Hobby Lobby case. |
Wow! I don’t see that. Can you give examples? I see a smart highly educated woman who had extensive experience working in the executive branch and would be a key asset in forming alliances with world leaders that have been jeopardized under Trump. |
Kamala has demonstrated that she isn’t strong on anything. Her record says ad much. She is tepid and lukewarm, living in the grey. She comes off as sterile and easily influenced, and without a strong demonstration of her standing up on the unpopular or controversial issues, my largest concern is that the GOP, international actors, DC circles would just run right over her. There is going to be a lot of prosecution necessary for all of the crimes that have been committed in this administration. While I like Kamala, she would be most impactful using the unique prosecutorial objectives post-Trump to raise both national and global awareness on her profile. I think if given an opportunity to right the wrongs of the past wrt how she prosecuted as communities, didn’t protect religion, etc people could then have a new baseline to refer to. I really would love to see her run in 2024. An AA female VP has to be dang near flawless to avoid distraction from where we will need to focus. Also, climate change is a huge problem, obviously. The shutdown has helped the earth repair some of itself, but it will be a battle against really deep pockets that arent as concerned with sustainability for the future as they are concerned about security for the present. Karen Bass really, really jumps out. She is subdued, and respected. I’m looking forward to learning more about here. She is on SOTU this morning so will be good to see more of her personality. BTW, I love Warren but recognize she may not be the most supported for this election, and we can’t take a risk with Trump. I look solely through the lens of who is the most electable and most likely to be efficient with the policy objectives they can impact over a 36 month period. Bass, Harris, Demings, Whitmer, Duckworth - they can all do it. But who is the best? |
