1) there will still be a hearing Thursday?

2) if so that Ford will testify?

3) and if any of these other accusers will be called to testify?

I think there will be a hearing but Ford won't show. The Ds know it, and that's why we're seeing all these 11th hour accusations from others. Otherwise, if Ford doesn't show, it would be over.

Do you know what "spiking the punch" means?

The punch was spiked??? I went to a lot of high school and college parties, and on don't ever remember mom setting out a punch bowl. This wasn't the Enchantment under the Sea dance! These were parties! If there was a barrel of red juice there, you could be damn sure it had alcohol. Nobody was sneaking a flask of vodka into the punch bowl.

Drugs and grain alcohol according to the sworn statement.

So because everyone's drinking alcohol, it's totally cool for the boys to grope, drug, or rape the girls? Got it.

Modern Republicans, folks.

Everybody knows grain alcohol is in it. That's why they're drinking it.

Grinding up quaaludes in the punch bowl is a little suspect. At the parties I attended in the 80's, people just passed them around.

I don't know. I am waiting to see what happens with Merkley's injunction. Also Maryland legislature is asking the local police chief to investigate the allegations. There is so much going on.

This is what I'm wondering as well. I could see Kavanaugh and/or his sponsors deciding that this was a lost cause. But why wouldn't Ford testify if there is a hearing?

In high school, in the late 80's I went to a UMD party and there, indeed, was a punch bowl. I took one sip and my face felt numb within moments. I was with 4 other high schoolers and the college kids didn't mind us being there until one of my friends lit a joint. It was like "get these h.s. potheads outta here!". No way we were going to drink any more of their rape juice.

All I'm saying is nobody had to spike the punch. It's like saying "who put the alcohol in my beer?" Just another strange element to the story.

The CPL is looking even creepier today. Didn’t know that was possible.

Could you all stop with the stupid nicknames? For Kavanaugh and Avenatti. It makes the conversation hard to follow jesus.

Sorry, no. I have reported I don’t know how many posts when people refer to Judge Kavanaugh with derogatory names. Those posts remain.
CPL is what Avenatti is. The name fits. He is what he is.

And you are what you are. A childish person who makes up idiotic names.

Unless PP is Tucker Carlson or an acquaintance of his, PP didn’t make it up. Carlson calls Avenatti by that moniker.

WHere are people getting the vibe that Ford won’t show?? Everything I’ve seen and read suggests she’s preparing to testify and engaged in the process.

Dr. Ford's testimony won't change the minds of those who've already made theirs up. I dread what would happen if they push him through and then even more comes out. I'm sure the True Believers will dismiss all of it, but for the rest of us ... just sickening.

WE gotta truck on. if we let the enemy win this one, we'll never recover. At this point we just have to get Kav on the court and worry about the rest later. Send Colliins and murkowski some $$ for their roads or something and get it done.

Wishful thinking. R's know that if she shows this is done. Especially with all these other allegations. They can't vote to confirm after watching a woman tearfully relive an assault from her teenage years without looking horrendous.

Anonymous wrote:Though I find Ford’s account credible (and don’t want Kavanaugh on SC), Swetnick is suspect. Makes no sense that she was at high school parties and beach week when she was in college. Plus, she knew drinks were being spiked and gang rapes going on but she went back to 10 parties? Swetnick owes MD Comptroller $62K, presumably in back taxes. I don’t understand how she has been able to keep her security clearance. Things aren’t making sense.

Where does it say she graduated in 1980? I know her socially and there is no way she’s that old!
