Judging by their incompetence, they probably planned to leave one but didn’t. Maybe something happened that was unexpected, and they didn’t have a chance. So then they had to figure out how to send the note and make the exchange without it being traced back to them.

It’s been what 11 or so days .. all they need to do is call in a location for the living woman or body at this point.

1. To steal stuff
2. To take someone
3. To kill someone

Are there any other possibilities? In all cases it seems whatever intent, things did not go according to plan in some way.

His gun was set up for a right handed person. I am right handed and I wear my backpack on the left side too. That leaves my dominant right hand available for anything I need to do
