I feel politically lost

Why? Because he’s a jerk? Aren’t most politicians?

Because he’s dishonest? Aren’t most politicians dishonest?

Ask yourself how things are going for you now and if you feel that his policies are working or not working.

+ a million.

Most Americans live better today than in 2016.

#Trump2020, and I do hope Dems regain their senses by 2024.

For me, things are going exactly the same, except my taxes are much higher. So that policy- not working.
I personally know people who have had major issues with immigration (legal) so that policy- not working.
My family is from a coal/steel producing area, and mines and factories continue to close right and left. So that policy- not working.
Along those lines, the opioid crisis continues to rage on. Is there a policy there?
I disagree profoundly with almost everything else he has done.

So, his policies are not working. More importantly, even if everything he was doing was FANTASTIC, the dissolution of our norms and traditions is more upsetting to me. A country can recover from a bad economy. It can't recover so easily from corruption. You are naive if you truly think America was as corrupt as some of the other countries in the world whose leaders Trump is copying.

This is where I come down. Couldn't vote for him in 2016, thought the economy would tank and he'd be in way over his head. I'm concerned that he drives so many establishment types away, but undeniable that we are doing much better overall. So he has my vote.

I’m the pp you responded to.

I am completely embarrassed to have him representing the US. His personal attacks on everyone who disagrees with him is a sign of a disturbed, unintelligent and petty person. I know 2 year olds who are better able to manage their emotions. He is a risk to this country’s security because he’s led around by his ego, and not solid foreign policy. His self-absorption and sexism make me want to throw things. He’s a bozo with zero understanding of how laws work, or how the different branches of government interact. He wants to sick the FCC on Saturday Night Live, a comedy sketch show, for not giving him fair and equal coverage. Seriously, WTAF? His attacks on science are well beyond what I can tolerate. I’ll shorten it to this list: NIH studies, sharpie on a map, anti-vax statements, interfering with the impartiality of scientific data.

Should I continue, or do you get the idea? I will never, ever vote for Trump. I do judge people who can just look past all of this and vote for him. My gun-loving, republican-registered siblings couldn’t vote for him either.

This times a gazillion.

I get that some people agree with Republican policies, but there are HUNDREDS of Republicans who would implement the EXACT SAME policies WITHOUT the mortifying behavior Trump displays on an hourly basis. What's wrong with Pence? He's a woman-hating throwback who will cut rich people's taxes and eliminate health care for the rest of us. VOTE FOR HIM.

Really? Come on. You don’t have to settle for this trash to have a good economy. Don’t be so quick so throw away the values and norms America represents.

I'd rather have any other elected Republican in this country, but that doesn't seem likely in 2020. In 2016 I wrote in Jeb Bush. What Trump said about Senator McCain and President Bush I found completely disqualifying. Please give me a choice!

I actually thought I could support Bloomberg. I'm fine with reasonable gun control though I find his climate views puzzling, and I thought he did a great job in NYC. And maybe I could still support him, but his pathetic apologies about police policies when he was Mayor disgust me. These policies saved thousands of lives and kept keep his residents safe.

I don’t quite see how giving us citizens money will serve as a deterrent to illegal immigration.
They keep coming even though they are detained for months on end, why would they stop coming?

Agreed.

And they will find a way to get the money, despite the fact that they are not citizens. There are already benefits that illegal immigrants get that citizens do not, in some places (free health insurance in CA, free college tuition in some places).

There was a lady in Silver Spring selling people’s identities for some good cash. So for $12K a year, I can guarantee there will be even more identity theft.

Exactly. I hope the Dems can come back to their senses in 2024, but for now this ‘lost’ voter is #Trump2020 all the way.

I didn’t vote for him in 2016, and really didn’t even give it a consideration. Now, he’s got my vote based on the economy and illegal immigration. Two important issues for me as a voter.

I don’t care about his obnoxious personality. I don’t care about his Tweets. And I have lots of family overseas, who actually do like him and respect his aggressiveness. (Different cultures see this kind of male aggression and nationalism as more of a positive - I don’t agree, but it’s not true to say that the rest of the world doesn’t respect the US.)

I had to close my business this past year because tariffs were killing it. So I’d say his policies aren’t working for me.

That’s reasonable. Then you should not vote for him.

What kind of business did you run? How many employees? And, how did the tarrifs kill your business?

Thanks for nothing. Your ignorance and those of people like you is destructive for this country. Not hyperbole. You buy the right wing propaganda about immigration. You don't care if the leader of our country is a corrupt jerk as long as your bank account is okay. Disgusting.

And additionally, the Trump supporter provides a perfect example of why the word "amoral" is used so often in reference to his supporters. "who cares as long as I get mine".
