Prep twitter had it 5-5 at the end of 4. But nice try.

Yes, and since this isn’t soccer/hockey they actually kept playing a fifth quarter, which PVI scored first and would have won in regular season.

They continued to get kids reps until it was 7 to 6 final.

I’m guessing you’re a CNN and WashPo, half a story, type person too.

It was a scrimmage. Both sides played a lot of kids who will never see the field during the season. I don't think 5-5 or 7-6 would be anywhere close to the score during the season.

The IAC will be down this year relatively to the recent past. Calvert Hall has a strong squad returning. Bullis will be good, but they had an exceptional run with their 2016, 17 & 18 classes.

Agree with most of your post. Bullis was exceptional in 2016 and 2017. Last year they were GOOD, not exceptional. If the Bullis administration hadn't sold their soul to bring in the STAB kid for one year, Bullis would have been average last year. The STAB kid was by far the best player on their team last year and maybe in the DC area. Too bad he only came in for one year as he was a hell of a player to watch. The DCE coaches have left Falls road, it will be interesting to see if this also has a coaching impact.

The IAC will be DOWN this year as a whole as will the entire DC region.

Is true that Gonzaga is carrying 40 players listed on their varsity lax roster - isn't that a bit much for one high school team?

No. It's a big school. That's a lot, but not outrageous.

That size seems fine, especially if there is a large senior class that has a lot of kids who won't play. Did the Gonzaga vandalism issue reported in the Post affect the lacrosse team at all?

Landon had 47 last year but only 17-18 ever played.

Are the sub patterns really that limited for a team like Landon? Seems a little low if you consider 3 attack, 2 O middie lines, 2-3 DM, 1 LSM, 3 d-poles, 1 FOGO, 1 goalie for any given game. That gets you to around 18 already without ever subbing the attack, poles, or FOGO. Seems like the number that play would be more like 20-24 if you have that kind of depth. So just curious if the elite teams in the area really stick with only 17 ever playing real minutes?

Very strong D and lots of underclassman depth...should be a much improved team over last year

you sir are reading way too much into this post.

If you are a parent, and are worried about little Johnny's playing time, you might want to consider why your son is even playing the sport in the first place.

No, I was just genuinely curious. It was inconsistent with the subbing patterns I've seen in college and where I'm originally from in LI. I don't have any kids that age so no dog in this fight. I just couldn't figure out why you'd limit to that few of players unless you had to from a numbers perspective. 17-18 seems more like a club team style, which is usually pretty different than high school or college. More pick-up than any actual scheme.

17-18 poster here. 17-18 get minutes and maybe 2-3 more get on the field. Landon runs one line of kids down the field like spectators and another line perpendicular to the field of subs.
1 goalie - unless its a blowout
4 defense
8 middies
5 attack
Those got all the minutes with a tiny sprinkling for a couple others. This is consistent with other sports.

Never understand the constant need on this thread to insult the parent/kid regarding playing lacrosse. People are allowed to ask questions and try to understand on how teams operate and have feelings with how coaches run their programs.
