What does it mean to “ban” abortion?

Honestly, I blame the mainstream media for *never* holding Republicans’ feet to the fire on this issue. A few simple questions would have helped voters really understand what they were getting by electing Republicans:

1. Is abortion murder?
2. If a woman gets an abortion, should she be charged with a crime? If so, what is the appropriate penalty?
3. Do you believe in the death penalty?
4. Should rape victims be forced to deliver their rapists’ baby?
5. Should police investigate miscarriages?

Just for starters. But they were allowed to slide and here we are.

They also persisted in calling the forced birthers “pro life.” They’re not. They’re going to be murdering so many women and absolutely needlessly.

I'm disgusted that teenage girls (because let's face it, it has zero effect on the father) have to have their parents notified in some states if they're having an abortion. The auntienetwork subreddit creeps me out but for a lot of people that sort of thing is the only way.

Get ready for the return of campus daycares at middle schools, high schools, and universities. For the price of an arm and leg, of course.

The teen birth rate is currently at an all-time low.

Auntienetwork should be scrawled on the back of every door in every women’s room in every one of those repugnant states, and pro choicers who live in those godforsaken places (I know you’re there and you’re good people; keep up the good fight!) should buy wondfos by the handful and leave them in public library bathrooms, restaurants, etc.

I think very soon women in red states will wait as long as possible to tell people that they are pregnant.

If you have an early miscarriage, it would be better to keep it a secret so there is no chance that police will arrest you for murder or force you to undergo some kind of invasive procedure to prove that it occurred naturally.

No - we are doing this for a white baby pipeline. We need the white teens to be punished to get the babies.

And this is exactly what I’m talking about:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell promises a *national* abortion ban as soon Republicans get power again and NOT ONE WORD in the article about whether this means that women who get abortions will be charged with first-degree murder. Or if rape victims will be arrested. Or if miscarriages will be investigated by the police. The mainstream media has just completely failed the American people on this issue.

It’s not a problem that we can fix immediately but the right wing stranglehold on the “mainstream” media has to be fixed. You are 100% correct; the media isn’t focusing on the actual problem or the consequences at all.

So you're going to arrest hundreds of not thousands of women? Do you think most people are going to put up with a police state?

The article points out that American women would have to go to Canada to get an abortion but that’s it as far as real-world impact. There is so much more that needs to be figured out. Please, mainstream media, talk about the *law enforcement* side of this. Ask Republicans to explain in detail how the new laws will work. The only way to “ban” something is to make it illegal. It doesn’t just happen magically.

The same birth control the GOP is now trying to make illegal? That birth control? Because it’s almost like it has nothing to do with “life” and everything to do with “controlling women.”

Not that people like you will admit that that’s what your obsession is.

Well, as Amy Covid-B, said this is a pipeline to white babies. Their whore mothers must be punished - prisons, work camps, Catholic laundries. The brown ones we will can continue to export abroad or allow to starve.
