You certainly sound more heaven-bound than most religious believers. |
| Athiests have their own points about god.We should not interfere with their thoughts as they strictly disbelieve in god.To believe in that god is just like having hope on something.I am not a atheist but i surely do not believe in the superstitions.I beleive in Allah and what he taeches us.I started learning quran since childhood and built up a strong belief in god.The people who dont believe in god are an example that there are people who still believe only what they see.Its not that bad to be an atheist as you have something to target people about. |
Takoma here, although too lazy to sign on. Just want to comment that I don't consider my disbelief to be strict. Perhaps I'm a reform atheist. God is just one of the multitude of things I can give names to that I don't believe exist. Some of these things I can actually see -- such is the power of our minds to create images. Conversely, there are many things I cannot see whose existence I am quite willing to accept. |
Boy, what a silly, silly question. What do you think happens to you before you were born? |
|
Why is it a silly question? It's a perfectly valid question. As an atheist, here is my response:
1. When I die, nothing happens. My brain ceases to be conscious, and the biological entity that is my body will decompose. 2. If there is a God, I would 1) be very surprised, and 2) wonder if I am indeed dead or if I am just in a coma and am dreaming about it. |
And if that God were the Christian god who was condemning me to hell because I didn't believe in him, I'd know for sure I was in a coma. |
it could be a catholic god asking for 30 pieces of silver to get out of purgatory. |
