What do you think about Stella and Dot jewelry?

I think their business model is distasteful and a bit demeaning to women, under the guise of GIRL POWER. We are not girls, and wine and chocolate and jewelry don't rule our worlds. Unless our worlds are very small. The jewelry is cute but it's expensive for what it is.

I purchased a two toned Silver Bangle and Hoop earrings at a Silent Auction last night and am so disappointed that it has Stella and Dot engraved on the OUtside of the Bangle- Very Tacky!! and I did donate more than it is worth. I am going to give it to the church gift shop.

Dont know if you received my opinion, but I purchased a silver bangle and Hoop Earrings at a Silent Auction and am VERY disappointed that Stella and Dot are stamped or engraved on the OUTSIDE of the Bangle- VERY TACKY!

and paid more that worth but it was a worthy charity at least.

I am not happy that the two stretchy type bracelets that I got, one a gift and the other I purchased myself have stretched out of shape after a year of wearing. So far there is nothing they can do for me. NOT very happy with a necklace I got as well, it turns dark and is hard to polish. I have a piece of Premier Jewelry I got 15 yrs ago, and IT S STILL IN PERFECT SHAPE. So I am going back to the Premier company, Sorry Stella & Dot. Oh and also, I have heard other people say the same as me that the quality of the pieces are disappointing. One of my friends bought a large necklace and matching pieces and the necklace fell apart. She tried to get an exchange and they would not do it-

I bought a bracelet that cost me almost $50, the clasp broke after wearing it 3 times. It's been 6 months of requesting my money back. After about 15 emails they gave me a form to print out so I could mail it back to them, well I did that and now they are saying they never received it. This company is a total scam, their product is garbage and seriously overpriced. You are better off going to the loonie store, nicer jewellery and will probably last longer. This is one instance where you definitely don't get what you pay for!!!

My Poor husband bought a necklace and ear rings from someone at work selling the stuff. It is such poor quality, that I would actually be embarrassed to wear it. He spent 150.00 for the set, and I have honestly seen better looking pieces at K-Mart. When I told him I did not like it, he agreed that he himself was shocked that it was such junk, but he didn't want to be a jerk and return it via a coworker. Awkward! So, now I have to find someone I don't like like to give it to. Maybe I can give it to Goodwill or a 5 year old.

Hate it!!!! It's cheap, tarnishes and breaks. And yes, you can get the same look from stores or online much cheaper.

I bought a necklace. Wore it three days in a row and it was tarnishing. BADLY. Had to send it back. Because it was clearance they tried to just give me a credit, but i pushed a little and am getting my money back. I was very disappointed. At least the customer service was decent.

So disappointed in the quality- just does not hold up. Everything I purchased has tarnished, the bag stitching came apart after one week- company did replace the bag.

I cant believe all the negativity here on this forum regarding Stella and Dot makes me wonder what sort of people browse this type of forum?...I have been buying Stella and Dot jewellery and other fashion pieces for years and absolutely love it...some of the cheaper pieces have not lasted as long as I would have liked but I have been wearing it everyday or very often especially the elastic pieces they did not last but overall I am very happy with my purchases especially with all the compliments I get when I wear them. I really love the bags and purses they are my Fav! Even when my broken piece was no longer available I was able to get credit for something else. I cannot believe all the lies that seem to be told about its quality on this forum! Makes me very very suspicious...and about the business model wake up its just social selling word of mouth selling dealing with local reps rather than head office... you can just go online or buy direct from the catalog which I have done heaps of time... if you dont want to see the products in person which is the reason I go to shows as they look very different to online photos.. dont go to one of the 'parties' (I dont think they call them parties?)and politely decline especially if it is your friend...I dont understand how people feel obliged to buy if they dont like it or feel pressured to buy come on grow up.. how stupid...just be honest and dont go or dont buy! I will continue to buy it as it is fashion forward, different and good quality for the money and most importantly I feel great wearing it! I do agree some of it is a bit pricey but that is because it is best quality. If I am not happy with any of the pieces I just send it back to my rep simple and get it replaced or refunded. Dont listen to all this negative crap here...go and check it out for yourself then you will know the real truth.

Gee I must have been very lucky with all the pieces, 50+ I have purchased would be interesting to know what the real percentage of returns are due to shoddy quality with this company?

Anonymous wrote:I've read up on both Silpada and Stella & Dot and they both use .925 sterling silver and both utilize independent global artisians to hand-craft their pieces. Silpada uses them for the full line and Stella & Dot uses them for only part of the line but the other portion of the line is made in the same facility which produces jewelry for Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. So I think any issue with quality a person has is actually a matter of style preference. I've been to a few shows & there were several pieces I picked up & really looked at which were very nice, heavy, etc and many of the ladies there had previously purchased and really enjoyed the line.

Ultimately, to each his/her own, but I think its not exactly accurate to say that its cheap.

Well, everything I've purchased has broken or is tarnished/rubbed off and is not real metal so can't be polished. Won't buy it again. They also do not replace or refund after a certain time. I do not sell Silpada, but all of my Silpada polishes beautifully and a couple things broke but I got a quick replacement, even couple years after I purchased. I think SD jewelry is crap.

this jewelry is such a rip off! i ordered a $100 necklace that my daughter in law wore for 2 months until it started tarnishing. the person i bought it from told me she let me buy it at her cost and i could not return it. so i am stuck with a necklace that cost me $100 bucks and was worn for 2 months! i even called headquarters and was lied to by corporate. i will never purchase anything else from this sorry company!!
