Students (the consumers of the college product) WANT more racial/ethnic diversity. A college that can attract diverse student body is able to attract more students to matriculate there. Because no students (including white students) want to study in an environment that is overwhelmingly white or monoracial. Students (the consumers of the college product) WANT more racial/ethnic diversity. A college that can attract diverse student body is able to attract more students to matriculate there. They are in the sales business.
