Why can't your dog poop on your own lawn?

Yeah, if you want to treat your lawn like it's inside your house, fence and roof it. If you have an open front lawn, accept that people and animals might occasionally tread on it.

When you start paying my mortgage and property taxes, I'll take your dumb opinion into consideration. Until then, stay the F away from my lawn. You people are insufferable. Entitled a$$holes!

see, i'd argue that the person who thinks they control all open space in the world and can tell other people and animals what to do in public is the entitled a-hole.

Please show me where I said I can control “all open spaces”? I sure as hell can control what I pay for, you dumb ass.

You didn’t pay for my dog!

You don’t pay for my property you idiot.

And I’m not causing any harm to it!

Sometimes I wonder how people like you make it into adulthood. Seriously! Like how can you so profoundly stupid and still have a job and function. It doesn’t matter what you think you are and aren’t doing. You are traspassing!!!!!!!!!!!

i try to avoid having my dog go to the bathroom on people's lawns, but when I'm walking her, sometimes she has to go. It's okay, stop being such a baby about everything, as long as it's cleaned up, who would care?

Here's an idea: if you own a dog and let it poop on other people's lawns, you should make a sign that says dogs welcome on your lawn. Dogs pooping on others' property should default to an opt-in, not an opt‐out. The default is don't poop on others' lawns.7

if people pick up their dog's crap, i don't care if they go on my lawn. why would I?

if you have an unfenced front lawn, and someone is walking their leashed dog from within the public right of way, you really can't complain. do you get angry because rabbits and raccoons poop and pee on your lawn?

I think it's just one insane, a&&hole dog owner just repeating the same shit over and over and over again. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO ENTER MY PROPERTY TO LET YOUR DOG SHIT ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don’t you sue and then you will see with your own eyes that space is public. Or talk to a lawyer. An expensive and time-consuming way to find this out, but if that’s what it takes.

There is no easement for the 3 feet of grass directly in front of my house. But again, since you seem totally ok with feces in front of your front door, I’ll be happy to drop some off.

So... now someone is pooping on your door?

In all seriousness... what is your issue? Are people letting their dogs poop on your doorstep? That's obviously too much, and I don't think any actual dog owners would disagree. It's also probably much more likely to be a wild animal -- coyote or racoon. I've also known some cats to leave some monster turds, and those are REALLY repulsive to step in.

I have never seen any deer, raccoon or any other animal shit in front of my house. I have, however, repeatedly walked out of my house to a pile of dog shit. Now do you see why I care?

So is it on your lawn or your doorstep? I think that matters... one is arguably a normal thing, the other sounds like some kind of harassment.

What's not? Is it on your doorstep or is it on your lawn? One is a normal place for dogs to poop and the other is not. Either way the poop should be picked up, but if it's on your front step, I think that means the owner is probably getting too close to your house for comfort, or is doing it on purpose.

You should stay off of private property regardless of how close to the door it is. Your feelings on what’s normal or natural don’t matter. It’s not for you to decide what is appropriate on the property someone else owns.

Mind your own business lady. If you don't have a fence and it's getting picked up, it's not a problem. Do you not have better things to worry about?

I love the bacon poop and chicken wing bones ideas. Keep those coming. The dog won't actually get hurt but I'd enjoy watching an entitled dog owner pry a nasty wing bone from their dog's jaws.

I will keep the bacon poop and bones a foot into my yard because the responsible dog owners supposedly only let their dog walk 6" into my yard and they won't have any issues. Sure, sure

You are too idiotic to keep responding too. Stay off of other people’s property. Have your dog shit in your own yard. Surely you can understand that.

I fully believe that her neighbors deliberately let their dogs poop on her doorstep and leave it there after reading her responses in this thread…
