Why can't your dog poop on your own lawn?

Maybe you’re a different lady? Where do you find the poop?

Well since you refer to that person as a wingnut, you are clearly incapable of understanding that leaving feces in front of someone's house is wrong, so I'm not sure how you, of all people, can call anyone a wingnut. It's comical at this point that we have 19 pages of arguing about something that should be completely common sense, if not common courtesy. I think it says something about the amount of entitlement in today's society.

I said that I often leave my house and find dog shit close to my door. I have three steps down from my front door and a patch of grass on both sides of my steps. Do you think it's acceptable that people let their dogs shit there over and over again? There is no easement (whoever started that nonsense is a moron. Easements exist for public utilities and emergency services, not some rando and her dog), the property is clearly mine, there is a window a few feet from where they leave the shit. I'm sure you'd be totally fine if you were greeted with that?

The person I called a wingnut asked if other posters wanted to have a human poop on their door, which was not only gross but a non sequitur, so I think it’s fair to call them a wingnut. Surely, that wasn’t you.

Anyway, people should pick up after their dogs and you should calm down and all the problems are solved. No need for that unhinged person to defecate in public or on someone else’s property, which, of course, would be a crime.

I'm glad you can finally admit that it is, in fact, unhinged for someone to "defecate in public or on someone else’s property." That includes dogs. Not sure why it took 19 pages but I'm glad we finally agree.

I was joking before but, seriously now, check your meds ma’am. I’m concerned about you.

You realize I'm not the one trying to justify for 19 pages going onto someone else's property to defecate, right?

Has someone gone onto your property to poop?

Ok troll. Enjoy your miserable life

Um. Dogs aren’t people.

Are you suggesting that your dogs shit is somehow better for me? It’s not as gross? Good lord!!!

Where do y'all live that there's 20 pages of discussion on this? In MoCo, it's law:

Animal Defecation (“pooper scooper” law) (Montgomery County Code, Sec. 5-203(a)(2)) -

An owner must not allow an animal to damage or defecate on property outside of the owner’s property. An animal may defecate on public property or the common area of property in which the owner shares an interest if the owner immediately removes and disposes of the feces by a sanitary method approved by the Director. Feces may be picked up in a plastic bag. If this bag is placed inside another plastic bag, it may be put out for disposal in your normal household trash. ($100 fine)

Animal Trespass (Montgomery County Code, Sec. 5-203(a)(3)) -

An owner must not allow an animal to enter private property without the property owner’s permission. ($100 fine)

A note: that first bit about the bag-in-a-bag means it's illegal here to dump your single-bagged dog bombs in someone else's trash can, since that's also an issue on this board.

Unless my dog is really sick, she won’t poop in my yard. It’s part of her home and she knows. I don’t know how, but she knows that inside the gate is home and outside the gate is for peeing and pooping.

How messed up is that? Your dog doesn't want to defile its own home with poop but it's totally ok to go to someone else's home? You need to take that ish to the dog park, nasty.

But no cop would enforce that. It’s just for cases of harassment.

How do you even know a dog has pooped if it’s been picked up?

Do you think dogs understand property rights? Anyway what’s the harm if it’s picked up?

No I’m a person who picks up after my dog and worries that you’re the type of person who will hurt an animal or a person because they look at your lawn the wrong way.

Oh please. I love the deflecting. Nowhere did I say I would hurt an animal but it’s nice to know that you have that in mind. Should keep you away from other people’s property. It’s totally within your power, you know,

Perfect. I’m going to let my dog poop right in the middle of the public sidewalk. I’ll pick it up, but you’ll be sure to step in whatever stains or smears might be left (as opposed to it just being picked up off the grass at the edge where one would be unlikely to step in that spot).

Problem solved!

I’m sure it will be completely lost on you that you sound like a petulant 5 year old. Not the PP you’re responding to.

OK so now you admit you CAN control where your dog poops. Curb your dog.

You don't know how? You trained her this way, that's how. If you'd trained her properly, she'd do her business in the same spot in your own yard she was correctly taught to use.

People like you shouldn't own dogs. You don't know what you're doing, and then you make up these bizarre narratives about your dog(s) to justify their lack of proper training.

You are clearly the problem. May you be solved soon.

Seriously. Who makes this argument? Who raised you? Where is your own self-esteem/integrity/dignity? What the hell is wrong with you?!
