And most kids in seniors practice 2-3 times a week. So this doesn’t sound like anything to cry over. |
Who is paying for all this pool time? |
Is this a serious question...? Why don't you give us your wildest guess. |
They don't pay for the county pool time so the question is a reasonable one of who will pay for the pool time at the MC or JCC or other locations. Will they raise the fees again? |
That's a longstanding false narrative - they do pay for the county pool time. And I'm quite sure they will also have to pay wherever else they end up. No free lunch. Prices for everything are going up, I wouldn't be surprised if club swim fees go up too. |
Someone previously posted that they do pay for county pool time. |
How has this thread kept going for 17 pages, seriously... |
^^Irony lady chiming in, lol |
The real question is how this change and uncertainty will affect the IMX scores for KSAC swimmers. |
No they don’t. The fees above the coaches salaries go to cover operations. But at a normal pool, you might pay $25/hour per lane. They wouldn’t have that line item anywhere paying the county for pool time. They get the lanes for free and anything left over goes to cover general operations |
So we can assume the county is going to subsidize this and take away from the little space that is available for private clubs? |
*nods grimly* I think that's accurate - you've uncovered this dirty, hidden truth! Now, what do you plan to do about it? |
Yes. It’s strange they don’t open the silver spring pool more hours or the other county pools. |
I don’t care about scores, I care about commute and times offered. |
Except that is exactly what they are doing - the majority of the displaced KSAC need will be absorbed by the new Silver Spring pool according to the schedule they published 2 weeks ago. |
