Why Joe was in the house is still part of the "active investigation" per the LE press conference.

If this was a set up, why would AP call BB when she saw the car in the driveway? Why would BB have returned (if the whole plan was for him to be out of the house on purpose)? Why would she have originally called 911? What happened in the extra 15 minutes?

We know from the presser that AP shot JR and BB wasn't even home when it happened. If that was the plan, what went wrong that he decided to cover for her? Like if the whole idea was that he would be out of the house at the time, then obviously him shooting JR was not the story they planned to tell. So why did they? I think figuring that out will be the crucial detail to how it all went down. Could they have waited the extra 15 minutes because they suddenly realized the wife wasn't dead?

Thinking you can pin a stabbing on someone else honestly doesn't seem like a mistake a LE would make. But who knows?

Is there any chance this really was all AP? She did this all w/o BB knowing in advance? She's originally going to call the cops to report she shot JR in defense of CB and BB arrives, flips out because there's no way cops we'll believe JR stabbed CB based on the scene, and then spends the 15 minutes trying to make it look like JR stabbed CB/he killed CB/AP just happens to be there?

Yes, thought of this. Forensics are better now, so hopefully will be faster, but also the forensics will be key.

CB died at the hospital. She was still alive when BB made the 911 call and told the police that he shot JR. If BB was indeed innocent, why would he lie to the police about shooting JR? The first thing on my mind if my wife is dying is to make sure the ambulance comes ASAP. Husband is definitely in on this with the AP.

Given everything we know, my theory is that Au Pair and dad were having an affair.

AP snapped and stabbed the mom, but didn't kill her. Stabbing is an emotional crime of passion.

AP uses Christine's phone, sends a text to Joe asking him to come help with something at the house. Joe arrives, is told to go to the bedroom, and he gets ambushed by the Au Pair from behind with the gun.

A few things not yet addressed by police:
-Where's the knife? Is this a kitchen knife?
-Who has wounds from the knife attack? Usually a killer will get scratched during the struggle.
-Bloody clothes and rags? Are there blood traces in the rest of the house?
-LEOs almost always have security and surveillance at their home. Ring doorbell camera footage from family home + adjacent neighbors?

Way too many gaps in this case for these two to get away with it.

The only open question still in my mind is whether Brendan (1) actively helped in the premediated plotting with the AP or (2) merely tried to help cover-up for the AP after the fact.

His blatant lie along with his clamming up to police leads me to believe the AP did this spur of the moment and he was trying to help her cover-it-up.

It's so grim and awful. 2 people are dead and for what? To not have to split the money? To covet someone else's husband?

I wonder if LI on Christine was $$$? Recent? How was he paying for everything on just his salary at FBI w/o insurance payout? Could be an important piece of the puzzle.

I agree with all of this. Stabbing someone is so messy and indicates rage, like how AP would feel rage that CB was living the life you wanted with BB and child.

He was driving a new Tesla. I'm not saying more. I live in the neighborhood and am totally freaked out by this guy and don't want to risk being identified by him if he is not in custody. And, I don't want to be too critical of LE, but did they really leave two homicidal maniacs living at liberty for seven months with the daughter in the house?
