Cap went 3-1 at President's Cup. Pride 1-3.

At Prez Cup, Capital highschool A teams played Pride highschool A teams in both both age groups - and won both decidedly. Age groups (‘23 and ‘24) in which no Pride players tried out for Capital.

The posters on here who claimed Pride is superior to Capital have been proven 100% wrong. Pride’s alleged superiority is nothing but a myth.

100% here. What's more interesting is to see how much the continued trend of Pride players leaving the program in younger years. The 26 players that left have vaulted the 26 Stars team to a new level. We already know what happened with the 25s. I am going to find it hard to believe that the 27 and 28 parents from Pride are so oblivious to all this going on and continue to stay at a faltering program.

Looks like the Capital teams are getting better and better as they play together more.

The talent gap is not the issue between those two teams. The difference seems to be the way CLC and Pride guided players and handled the recruiting process. One really well, the other not so much. It was a good game, played by two solid teams, and was tied late into that game. Our goalies played really well and probably were the difference in that game. Sounds like a Pride parent trying to do their best imitation of Cap parent. Again. Capita finished the weekend 3-1. Pride 1-3 against largely the same teams. College coaches are smart and their jobs are on the line if they don’t recruit good players. If they see talent, they will recruit.

It's funny how shocked everyone is that someone is actually being reasonable!! It was a tied game until mid-second half, and yes, Pride ran out of steam, and then made some ill advised attempts at goal. But, I think both teams were happy that it was a super competitive game, and both teams showed really well. No need to dump on the loser, even though I know many people cannot resist. Pride's record doesn't look great, but they lost another game by 1, and then they beat LI Jesters, who is supposed to be a top 10 team with a bunch of D1 recruits. So, for them, it was a great weekend. No need to just be ignorant and mean. They certainly held their own against teams with 15+ D1 commits!

It seems obvious that CLC is doing the recruiting game well and Pride is not. My guess while Pride does offer some recruiting support, the key players (KM and JM) are spread all over the place and cannot provide the same level of support that the CLC team offers. Recognize most of the responsibility is on the girls, but whatever CLC does is working.

This!!! It just shows that they are all very competitive top teams, and they all have the chance to win or lose on any given day. Just because you are positive about your team doesn't mean you have to be negative about someone else. They are all filled with girls working extremely hard and doing really well!

If those younger age-groups parents are smart, they will swallow the years of stars bashing pride and see that a move there makes a NOVA team that can finally compete with the top MD teams.

I think a Pride parent is hoping that saying it is so will somehow change the recruiting outcome for 2023. 2024’s are the players getting looks now. There is no ‘showing well’ as coaches have already filled their 2023 recruiting classes. 20 girls from Pride won’t suddenly commit. Are we going to continue to hear this ‘2023 is the year that will show Capital’ even now? It’s really hard to fathom.

The point is that if the teams are even somewhat in the same league, its notable that Pride’s recruiting is so off. Is the club not doing anything to help them?
