What was the point of Miranda in the sensory deprivation tank? That was cringe as was the strap on. What happened to Miranda?
Where is Steve? Is she cheating on him?

Who are all these other people? I know - I would know if I watched S1.
Ok I was interested to see Warwick from CSI - bring him back pls!
Was that green stripped ribbon dress supposed to be amazing had it fit??
I just want to see the complexity + humor that was captured in the SATC characters and story lines. If there’s some of that in this new show I’ll try to stick with it.

Miranda left Steve for Che and they pretty much threw her character out. She is no longer confident, hard-working, no BS Miranda and is acting like some sort of lovesick puppy who has given up all control in her relationship. It's so bizarre.

I like her being awkward and vulnerable. We don’t have to crystallize into one set way of being. Middle age / later middle age certainly is a fantastic time to set yourself free of rigidity.

I think so, too.

Same! I don’t buy “tough girl” characters because in real life everyone has phases of being scared or having their life get turned upside down. I find that much more interesting to watch than another confident woman has their life perfectly together.

I’m really enjoying this new season. It feels like diving back into the good old days of SATC and I like the new issues the characters are facing and how they have changed.

So, based on the previews, I'm guessing Brady experiences his first heartbreak and Miranda rushes back to NYC. Realizes she and Che don't work, she belongs in NYC, they break up and she rebuilds from there. Now that could be a good story, if she's basically pansexual and newly dating. I hope she and Steve are able to reconnect as great friends though, and that he marries someone who adores him.

Yes, and this would be a great way to bring in fun and interesting guest stars. She and Nya will go out on the town together. I guess Seema, too. Then it will feel more like the old SATC, since they're not going to break up Charlotte's or Lisa's marriages, and Aiden will be back soon.

I have to agree. I am liking this season more than last. I’m assuming they’ve incorporated some of the fan feedback.

Nya is the only dimensional new character, I think just because Karen Pittman elevates everything she's in. The other newbies are so thinly drawn it's hard to be interested. Seema had potential, but agree with a PP she's written as a watered-down Samantha.

LOL, true. I appreciate they're showing middle-age ladies with healthy sex drives but this was unexpected. But despite her best efforts, she has zero chemistry with Che and it's uncomfortable to watch.

For the life of me, I don't understand why they didn't pair Miranda with Nya. That would have made far more sense in terms of general compatibility. I understand wanting to introduce a non-binary character/love interest but forcing it in the absence of chemistry doesn't do anyone any favors.

Well if they did that, then Cynthia Nixon wouldn't get the opportunity to play herself

In the Max doc, it's stated Nya was the original plan but Cynthia nixed, feeling two straight women wouldn't work.

Why did we need to see Miranda naked in the sensory deprivation tank?

We didn't, but I'm all for normalizing nude middle aged bodies in both regular and sexy contexts.

Your phrasing is a bit uptight. Maybe you should go to a float tank.

I liked it because you could see how uncomfortable she still was just being quiet with her self. And you don’t wear a swimsuit in there. It would’ve been a very weird shot to just do shoulders up. At this point Miranda is more interesting character than Carrie who is still a never nude who can’t talk about her vulva.

As a fellow never nude, I appreciate Carrie's prudishness - and Miranda going out of her comfort zone, while trying to figure out what she wants from life.

what i want to know is how miranda went from being someone who doesn't even shave her bikini line for a Mexican beach vacation to being someone who goes totally bare
