If anything, I think studios will be more reluctant to hire him in the future because in addition to worrying about delays and cost overruns due to his drinking and drug use, but they would also have to worry about him suing them if he feels like he was in any way mistreated.

I have not followed the trial very closely, but there may have been an objection from Depp’s team to admitting them, because as a general matter evidence of prior bad acts is not admissible as evidence that the person committed the particular bad act in question. If Depp had testified that he had never hit anyone in his life, however, then those videos may be admissible to refute his testimony. They would still be hearsay, but would likely be admissible as statements against interest.
