I do not know anything about this particular lawsuit, but from experience I do know about Landon's nasty culture.
An unusual amount of slurs, both ethnic and sexual are used by students in front of faculty. Faculty generally doesn't pay attention to this kind of thing. I've always wondered about how leadership can ignore this sort of thing unless they believe it to be ok. It's way out of bounds; maybe this lawsuit will force Landon to pay attention. |

Without knowing about the facts behind these allegations, I will say that this has the look of a suit filed by a disgruntled former employee trying to bootstrap his firing into a discrimination lawsuit. It's also the case that these schools hate bad publicity and will often settle before the complaint if they think there's a real issue. The fact that they've let the guy go ahead and sue suggests they feel highly confident they can show he was dismissed for cause.
Or . . . Not. Just speculating here. |

| The CFO has a 20 year track record of success with two other prominent area schools. It's clearly not about an incompetent CFO. Just Google "Landon School scandals" and read the myriad of stories. This is just the latest. |

I'm checking it out for myself and the very first link that comes up is Wikipedia, which includes the "Cheating Scandal" and the "Fantasy Sex League."
The search (Landon School scandals) yielded 2,560,000 results. You have to search and read some of these for yourselves. Incredible! You can't make this up. |

| Through two judicial clerkships and a career in litigation, I've read hundreds of discrimination/retaliation complaints. My gut is that this one is thin, and the law firm is relying on the fact that Landon's gotten some unpleasant notoriety in other circumstances. Obviously I don't know the facts of the case, so I might be wrong and the plaintiff might have a great case, but "thin gruel" was my thought when I read the press release. |
