I thought he was at NCS.

No, his published materials say Calvert School (Baltimore) and Beauvoir.

I don't know why so many DCUM folks are so quick to dismiss the plaintiff. Several of the Hispanics interviewed on tv (w/o releasing their names) commented on the hostile work environment. There is an entitlement culture at Landon that is worse than the other elite schools here. The guys are told they're going to rule the world oneday (many of their dads already do) and they feel like they can step on the little folks. I had a DD at Holton and was happy she liked the STA and Prep boys better who seemed much more respectful.

The search (Landon School scandals) yielded 2,560,000 results.
You have to search and read some of these for yourselves. Incredible! You can't make this up.

Are all by the same poster. By pure coincidence, that poster is also the OP of this thread.

As proud Landon parents with two kids in the school., thank you for calling out the original poster. Clearly this person hates Landon and has some time on their hands!!

I'm so glad that you called out the serial poster. My only wish is that you do that more often. It would cut through the crap on so many of these overblown threads for all the schools.

My gut is that this one is thin, and the law firm is relying on the fact that Landon's gotten some unpleasant notoriety in other circumstances. Obviously I don't know the facts of the case, so I might be wrong and the plaintiff might have a great case, but "thin gruel" was my thought when I read the press release.

Yes, it is pretty thin. Word is that plaintiff was trying to get what he wanted for months and threatening to go to the press. Landon's notoreity is strongest thing they have. For what it is worth, I'm not a Landon community member , past or present. Couldn't care less about the school one way or the other. Just hate to see people manipulate the legal system.

Highly suspicious that the law firm issued a press release?! Smells like someone thought they could make a buck off a school that they anticipated would settle rather than risk bad press.

Thank you admin for calling out the poster that is clearly trying to advance their own personal agenda.

Yup. I thought the same thing. Don't they advertise on television, too?

Eck. Would never send my son to that richboy-prep-buy you- way-through-anything-in-the-news-every-damn-day-SO-CALLED-SCHOOL. More of a frat house.

I send 2 sons to the school - the school is a wonderful place and my sons are very happy. The fact that this lawsuit rec'd any coverage on the news is ridiculous. Not sure why this is considered news- an employee who was let go and who has an ax to grind and an attny trying to use publicity for leverage in a lawsuit without merit...

This is just plain wrong! How could you fire someone for standing up AGAINST discrimination!? Obviously, it is wrong to discriminate against someone for being Hispanic or anything else for that matter. The abuse of these workers is going to just continue if he doesn't win the lawsuit. It's 2012 for goodness sake! Are we ever going to conquer racial discrimination in this country?
