Every Republican agrees Ford very likely was assaulted, but is misremembering the details. Memory is fallible. It happens.

Zero of them are willing to extend that principle to Kavanaugh. It's as if only women's memories can fail.

So that is what I believe. I believe it happened, that he doesn't remember it. And that instead of saying, 'hey I have drunk alcohol recklessly and I can see in my youth having done something like this and not come close to realizing the magnitude of what I had done' he says, 'I have never blacked out drunk.' He literally cannot conceive of having done this in a drunken stupor. I think he's lying about his drinking. I don't think he's lying about his memory of attacking her.
