2024 is decent with 10+ players
2025 is a weaker class so it will be interesting VLC needs to update its website for recruits and new 2023-2024 teams. Crabs already updated theirs. |
I believe they rely on more social media posts then their website. But I agree on needing to update it... |
| 2024 Commits: UVA, Yale, BU, Loyola, Jacksonville, Iona, Lynchburg, 3-4 players to CNU; A few more D3s likely pending. |
| Pretty sad if you can’t figure out how to update a website to highlight your most valuable offering….or who your coaches are |
I agree. According to the website they have 2 x 2028 teams and 0 x 2027 teams. So someone new looking in would be confused. |
| Any new comics for VLC I’ve only seen one |
I am curious about the 2027 team. Especially since they did not have any team last season. |
| I heard VLC folded |
| That sounds libelous. |
27 team is made up of a bunch of kids that were playing for Hammers (which had originally come from Cavs so full circle). |
I am guessing they were not getting anything out of the Hammers program... |
|
No offense to the Hammers organization (I think they deliver a perfectly fine product) but Hammers (now Team Virginia Lacrosse) are not going to get any kid recruited to a top college.
Hammers is a good option for the high school player who wants to play better in highschool but is not very interested in playing in college. VLC has helped with recruiting in the past. Whether they can continue to do so remains to be seen |
Truth is that the club does not get a player recruited the player gets a player recruited. All the past VLC players probably would have gone D1 if they played for Hammers. If a player can make a top showcase team UA/Nike attend top events: NLF, NXT fall event, and ball out during a prospect camp, they will get recruited. A player will get an extra bump if they play for a top private school and attend NHSLS and maybe get a big time HS game that a college coach will watch. It has just been the case that these players did not show up at Hammers/Team VA tryouts in the past. The VLC kids need to play well and they will get recruited |
I am hoping the 2027 VLC kids do well. But, I am curious what VLC will do about building a 2028 team. Especially with the 2028 kids going off to several over programs. |
| Same thing happened to VLC’s 2027 team last year. They broke up before 8th grade and reformed for 9th grade. If VLC plays thier cards right they could end up with a great 28 team next fall as there is already dissatisfaction on ML, NL and DCE |
