Protests on college campuses

You know, you keep frantically attempting ageist insults all over the place to desperately keep your propaganda bubble in place, but the fact is that the protestors are widely despised across all age groups. I’m no boomer, either. Just someone who sees how pathetic you are. When you have to resort to ageism to just pretend you’ve got an argument, you have nothing to stand on whatsoever.

You and your cohort have lost. You are disliked, have alienated most Americans, have managed to do nothing but drive support away from Gaza, have given the Republicans a gigantic electoral gift, and have largely managed to convince vast swaths of the electorate that you are all entitled nutcases. No amount of ageist insults can stop that truth from spreading at this point.

I’ve never been a big frat fan but I sure am now.

The frat boys are just the right-wing version of the campus protestors.

Most likely not. They’re just regular American kids tired of seeing the flag taken down and the ghost of a terrorist organization raised in its place. Any college that allows it to happen should have all federal funding taken away.

The Ole Miss frat boys don’t give a shit about Israel or about the U.S. flag. Their flag is the Confederate flag. They just jump at any opportunity to be openly racist a**holes.

I’m reporting this as racism.

Just because they’re from Mississippi doesn’t mean they’re confederate supporters and your biases show.

DP. Confederate flag and flag of Israel has the same meaning.

You are insane, but also delusional. The frat boys did not raise the flag of Israel or the confederate flag.

Though, candidly, as someone who would never in my life have raised an Israeli flag, watching the despicable behavior of the protesters would make me consider it. I am so repulsed by these entitled spoiled jerks.

Seriously. And it’s not just frat boys - my college kids tell me that the vast majority of students on their campuses are sick to death of and just ignore the protesters. It’s finals and normal people are trying to study.

It does not look like the “boys” are home studying. More like looking for some action

One thing is clear.... they weren't spending their time at an encampment or painting graffiti or destroying property.
I will take their "action" any day over that of the anti-Israel protesters.

White men singing the national anthem in response to peaceful protest is not my idea of safe action.

What I hear you saying is that white men are not permitted to protest because it hurts your feelings.

Maybe you would feel better if they put on dresses and garish makeup? I have been told that instantly makes a man super safe to be around.

Why stop there? Just go to your front porch, get that Waffen-SS flag and start attacking all people. Got to make all those people protesting the killing of 35,000 innocent civilians shut up…right. What a f’ing snowflake.

The side opposed to Israel’s actions and calling from an immediate ceasefire on humanitarian grounds is already starting from the high ground of having just about every other nation in the world, save the U.S., in full accord with their position. At this point, Israel and the U.S. are isolated on that front.

To the extent that support for the plight of Palestinians under siege and in famine conditions has been driven away by protesters bringing the extent of that suffering to light, I think that says a lot more about the lack of morality across
large swaths of America than it does about anything else.

Personally, I’m not supportive of how the protesters have created destruction around campuses and not made what appears to be much of a concerted effort to clean up after themselves. That’s unacceptable. I also think any instance of actual anti-semitism that occurred during this round of protests is misguided as the focal point of their protest should be Israel, and its policies and actions. Also unacceptable.

That said, the counter-protesters have managed to demonstrate even more alarming disregard for safety, civil rights, following laws, etc. If rights are not going to be taken seriously by the counter-protesters who are allowed to criminally attack those with whom they disagree, we’ve descended into chaos. At that point, all bets are off. Some of you are cheering them on, but what happens when one pulls a gun and starts firing into the crowd of protesters?

NYPD Deputy Commissioner, Operations Kaz Daughtry
@NYPDDaughtry
Pencils, books, laptops, those are the tools of students and what you expect to find on a college campus. But here’s what the NYPD found in Hamilton Hall at Columbia University after we were able to arrest the protestors and agitators for commandeering and barricading themselves inside the building. Gas masks, ear plugs, helmets, goggles, tape, hammers, knives, ropes, and a book on TERRORISM. These are not the tools of students protesting, these are the tools of agitators, of people who were working on something nefarious. Thankfully, your NYPD was able to prevent whatever they were planning and stop them before they could do it. Continue to peacefully and lawfully protest; but know that if you engage in illegal conduct, the NYPD will hold you responsible and hold you accountable—someone has to.

That would be murder. The Star spangled banner is not chaos. Would calling an obese white woman a yeti be racist? Albino heifer? Polar bear? Whitney Thore?

Biden shouldn’t have ran on student loan reduction. This is largely why this is happening. They don’t understand why Congress can’t do that but seemingly can send billions to butcher kids and not Hamas

I have seen coverage of the protests and the idea that the counter protesters are more dangerous is absolutely laughable. The fact you refuse to see anything outside of your bubble is not my problem. The rest of the country sees reality, thankfully. These protests are very unpopular.

No, they aren’t. Because they aren’t destroying anything. They aren’t leaving feces and graffiti on university buildings. They are nothing like the protestors.

+1
Incredibly ignorant to try to draw any comparison whatsoever to the aggressive, intimidating, destructive protesters and a group of guys who merely replaced the U.S. flag and sang the National Anthem. Major analogy fail by the PP.

These kids are not anarchists. They are paying north of six figures for college tuition. They can camp wherever they want on campus. As long as they aren’t hurting people , they are well within their rights which is why police can’t arrest them. They aren’t trespassing on private property.
