Half the country supports what they are doing.

Less than. They've blown their political capital on their actions this year.

I'm really impressed about how this panicked ICE officer who was fearing for his life as a vehicle was turning away from him managed to film it, pursue the vehicle, reach in, shoot the woman three times, and then call her a "f--king b---h" on the audio.

He sounds absolutely like a guy that's going to de-escalate a situation.

Someone who uses their car to intentionally block in officers is commiting an incredibly brazen act and very rightfully would be viewed extreme caution. This isn't someone simply holding a sign and chanting. If I saw a protestor blocking in officers I would definitely think it's quite likely that such a person is inclined to act with violence.

Her group does this very intentionally

I mean, I get that it’s dumb and dangerous. But this isn’t the movies… it wasn’t some villain going 40 mph trying to run over Jason Bourne. It was a mom in a Honda Pilot with her dog in the backseat. It seems like he could’ve just jumped out of the way, no?

He didn't even need to jump out of the way. He moved forward for the kill shot.

Certainly courageous of you. Be careful how they view you pulling out of a parking spot.

Why? I wouldn't attempt to block them. I wouldn't give them attitude. I have nothing to fear.

I see ZERO evidence that his life was in danger nor evidence that she was "weaponizing her vehicle", in fact it is now clearer that she was leaving the scene.

Just because the wife was mouthing off was NOT a reason to use deadly force.

It isn’t a justification but it shows how stupid and unhinged the people trying to obstruct ICE are.

I don’t think the shooting was justified, but WTF were they trying to accomplish exactly?

Who goes out and tries to antagonize and pick a fight with law enforcement trying to do their job? If I don’t like speeding enforcement should I follow state troopers around screaming at them, holding a cell phone in their face, and blowing whistles next to them all day?

The officers are doing what they are told. They can’t just decide not to do their job because you disagree with it. Of course they should try to stay cool… but they are also human and if you put them under enough pressure long someone will lose their cool.

There is no evidence the she was doing any of that, but generally, that would be an act of civil disobedience. The people assuming some risk to help right a wrong.

It doesn’t mean that you’ll get to murder someone, no matter how broken and pathetic you are.

It's stupid like running into a busy highway and illegal

Wait, are you talking about the cops illegally standing in the roadway now?

Amazing.

Yes, charge them with that too.

What's going to happen is the national guard will be deployed to protect ice from the lunatics it's clear miniapolis police aren't doing their job. I look forward to it.

Wait - National Guard thugs will be deployed by Walz ?!?!

Did you just come out from under a rock? He authorized them yesterday.

I don't think so...his own phone footage shows her saying to him "I'm not mad at you, dude" with a huge smile. Then he shoots her and as her car veers off because she's been shot in the face 3x (while her foot was on the gas) he calls after her "you fuccking biiitch."

This violence stands alone. It was cold blooded murder against a woman he decided instantaneously he didn't like and wanted power over.

People who smile at you and say "I'm not mad" are not a threat. Period. The end.

It takes less time to jump backwards than it does to unholster a weapon, aim, and shoot -- plus it means you are no longer in the path of what may now be an uncontrolled vehicle.

Shooting doesn't make sense as a defense.

The car was turning right, away from him. Shooting actually made the vehicle veered off towards him and others if there were any behind him. It makes zero sense to shoot for safety reasons.

Let the jury decide.

Exactly. This just not make sense.

Because giving them attitude is cause to have your head blown off? What point are you trying to make?

She said it in a very snide tone. But honestly, I think her wife is the once who escalated it and holds most of the responsibility. How stupid can you be to block in law enforcement and then belittle and insult them?

He was panicked and acted within a split second.

If that situation caused him to panic he has no business doing that job. It is painfully obvious ICE agents are utterly incompetent and now another person is dead because of it.

That’s not why this person is dead. If she had been anywhere else other than putting herself at risk willfully she would be home with her family tonight.

The only reason she was "at risk" is because this federal agent was either poorly trained, trigger happy, or a sociopath. If she deserved to be arrested for blocking the street or even for avoiding arrest by driving away, then arrest her. She would not have been "at risk" if the agent had not been 100% wrong. This was murder.

If you believe this video exonerates him then you should be demanding the administration to do a complete investigation and prove his innocence. Why refuse an investigation and cover up what happened?

I would be saying much worse than that about someone who had tried to block me in.

With a gun in the backseat. Just a peaceful protester.

Totally irrelevant.

The only question was whether Ross was justified in using lethal force. And that turns upon whether he reasonably feared for his life. The fact that he was earlier traumatized by a vehicular incident is irrelevant to whether any fear head had was reasonable. And given what we have seen on the various videos, I have a hard time believing a jury would find that he had an objectively reasonable fear for his life.

But let's let a jury decide. What is the problem with that? We would get further clarity with respect to what is a reasonable fear in Minnesota (and what is not a reasonable fear).

If a law enforcement officer's response to insults is to pull out a gun he isn't qualified to do the job.

So what? Who expects law enforcement to shoot someone for being snide, belittling, or insulting? As others have said, if an officer cannot handle that he is absolutely in no position to have any responsibility, much less a gun.
