Same, but I am guessing that there will only be 1 person repeating. Part of the genius of this show is meeting new characters and trying to figure them out - what makes them tick, why they are the way they are, etc. |
1) she’s a plaintiff side employment lawyer. That’s the opposite of a corporate lawyer. 2) She was with him before she sold the company. Divorcing and taking her half would make a lot of sense for her but she wants to save her marriage. I’m sorry that you hate women but the creators of this show don’t, which is why you’re so completely out to lunch on these interpretations. |
Gosh I am a genius. I made this post it a few weeks ago. I got everything right but the cheating part. I also asked multiple times on this thread, the only one who asked, where is Greg? He was supposed to return in only two days and he was gone all week. |
She didn’t humiliate him at all. In fact she lied about their sex life to protect his ego (said it was great when actually he won’t have sex with her). |
There were many of us who thought the gays were in cahoots with Greg running a scam. That said, I give you props on falling into the ocean |
| It is interesting how so many viewers think Harper is just another Aubrey Plaza sarcastic witty character they love no matter what, so they refuse to consider any ulterior motives. She's just a low-key ball breaking corporate lawyer from Puerto Rican poverty, who just randomly met a rich Yale boy who founded a multi-billion (?) tech company. She is not at all attracted to prestige or money! She's above that! And she totally doesn't fear her billionaire net worth (or at least hundreds of millions) husband whom she has no children with and she doesn't have sex with could leave her like presumably the dozens of other starter marriages she's seen fail around her in the last 10 or so years. Harper is a good person! |
You... aren't watching the show? Harper never complains that her husband won't give her kids, and in fact she looks embarrassed when Ethan starts rambling about how they never have sex because of their schedules, like she would prefer he not share this with these people. She's only bothered by the porn because he expresses so little interest in her sexually, which is a completely valid complaint for someone to have about their spouse. And she expresses this stuff to Ethan, not to Cam and Daphne! She makes a couple little jokey asides with them (referring to his morning runs "that's what I'm dealing with") but she's not complaining about him to them. She stays guarded with Daphne through the entire trip to Noto and never says an unkind thing about Ethan except to express concern that the money might change him. She rarely turns her sarcasm on Ethan and mostly uses it to ridicule Cam and Daphne, who she dislikes immediately. It's clear she was never enthusiastic about coming on this vacation with them and she lets that show. But as we learn over the course of the season, Ethan's reasons for doing it have little to do with how much affection he has for Cameron as a friend and everything to do with one-upping him or proving that he's better now. None of which he shares with Harper who is just in the dark and wondering why they are spending what appears to be a rare break from work with people who are so fundamentally different from them. I would also be annoyed and confused about this. Though I guess it works out in the end. |
That was transparent thinly veiled posturing. Cam and Daphne obviously didn't believe that and changed the subject. |
Yeah this person clearly has a negative view of women and is trying to project that onto Harper. There's no basis to think she a scam artist and Ethan was a "mark." There is every indication that they had a pretty normal marriage |
She.is.not.a.corporate.lawyer. |
Omg, stop with this |
I think the PP's rantings are just Phase 2 of Ethan/Albie is the same person. Ignore them. |
I agree - I think was Albie was willing to compromise himself to get the money for Lucia, but it wasn't just a cold lie I actually thought it was sort of odd that he said Lucia "played" him in the end. She did, and the viewers know that, but he didn't necessarily know that she didn't have a pimp she needed to pay off, right? He was leaving that day anyway. If she had spent the morning with him and made some vague promise to come to LA sometime, would that have been what he wanted? |

I really liked the season and the ending. I have so many unanswered questions though. Top ones (please feel free to give your answer if you think you know or have a good guess)
1) Why did Ethan not want to have sex with Harper? 2) Did Ethan/Daphne have sex, and did Harper/Cam have sex? (I lean yes on the first and no sex but making out and intending to have sex on the second) 3) Is there really a trainer, and is he the father of one or both of Daphne's kids? In one episode didn't she talk about getting infertility treatments for one of her kids? 4) Why didn't "the gays" kill Tanya much sooner? Why have that guy have sex with her at the party? |
Harper didn't hang a shingle. There was a line in episode 1 or 2 that "Harper's a star at her firm." Large corporate firms have talent with niche focuses including labour, employment; discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblowing. These can be multi-million settlements, if not sometimes class action status reaching into the eight figures. |
