ID2 is the same way. Free but you have to get your player to the location (not foreign locals but can be distant).

I have even seen go fund me pages of people asking for money to send there kids to Europe to pay soccer because they were "selected" to go. That is a scam on top of top of a scam.

Your player is fortunate that he can afford to benefit. You are living in a fantasy world if you dont accept that there are very talented players that are not accepting invitations to the Bahamas or Europe or wherever.

Question is why? Not if it is exclusionary. What do the people involved get out of this?

1. The coaches attending won’t pay. ECNL will cover their cost and they’ll spend a lot of time drinking in the hotel
2. The players will learn it’s hot and the fields suck and their “all star” team can probably beat the Bahamas Nationa Team
3. They’ll learn more about the blue water and white sand than anything else
4. No one will ever calculate the lost development opportunity they missed if this had been run like a true development camp in an affordable US location
