I'm really impressed about how this panicked ICE officer who was fearing for his life as a vehicle was turning away from him managed to film it, pursue the vehicle, reach in, shoot the woman three times, and then call her a "f--king b---h" on the audio.

He sounds absolutely like a guy that's going to de-escalate a situation.

Someone who uses their car to intentionally block in officers is commiting an incredibly brazen act and very rightfully would be viewed extreme caution. This isn't someone simply holding a sign and chanting. If I saw a protestor blocking in officers I would definitely think it's quite likely that such a person is inclined to act with violence.

The officer didn’t seem very cautious[/quote]

He was hostile towards her, because being that she did something so brazen as to try to block them in, he very justifiably viewed her as a threat.

Just because the wife was mouthing off was NOT a reason to use deadly force.

It isn’t a justification but it shows how stupid and unhinged the people trying to obstruct ICE are.

I don’t think the shooting was justified, but WTF were they trying to accomplish exactly?

Who goes out and tries to antagonize and pick a fight with law enforcement trying to do their job? If I don’t like speeding enforcement should I follow state troopers around screaming at them, holding a cell phone in their face, and blowing whistles next to them all day?

The officers are doing what they are told. They can’t just decide not to do their job because you disagree with it. Of course they should try to stay cool… but they are also human and if you put them under enough pressure long someone will lose their cool.

There is no evidence the she was doing any of that, but generally, that would be an act of civil disobedience. The people assuming some risk to help right a wrong.

It doesn’t mean that you’ll get to murder someone, no matter how broken and pathetic you are.

It's stupid like running into a busy highway and illegal

Wait, are you talking about the cops illegally standing in the roadway now?

Amazing.

Yes, charge them with that too.

What's going to happen is the national guard will be deployed to protect ice from the lunatics it's clear miniapolis police aren't doing their job. I look forward to it.

You just want so badly to believe the worst about ICE/law enforcement. What he did was not murder. It was a mistake, and a mistake that could very justifiably cost him his job, but it wasn't murder.

Shooting into the driver's side window when the vehicle had already passed for the kill shots suggests otherwise.

Hate to have to ask but has it been reported which shot was fatal?

My understanding from the beginning was that it was the second and third shots, but somebody should be able to clarify.

She wasn’t blocking the street - the longer video which has been available for days shows multiple vehicles getting past her. And she said she was pulling out.

She was blocking every ICE vehicle she could.

This is not a new tactic. It is happening all over the USA at the moment.

It takes less time to jump backwards than it does to unholster a weapon, aim, and shoot -- plus it means you are no longer in the path of what may now be an uncontrolled vehicle.

Shooting doesn't make sense as a defense.

They weren't "blocked in". Another ICE vehicle had already passed. If he thought she was a threat, it wasn't very bright to step toward the front of the vehicle to line up the shot. Did you actually watch any of the videos? Any of them?

Ross is a weak person and I would be surprised if he didn’t engage in deeply immoral acts while in the military.

And how would you characterize a protester who uses her car to block in officers?

They weren’t blocked in. The SUV went around. The pickup could have too. The shooter came back after driving around the front of her vehicle.

Doesn't much matter. The first one was in the lower left corner, right above the VIN number. That indicates that Ross was NOT in front of the car when he shot. He was next to the driver's side front tire. Maybe as far forward as the bumper, but nonetheless beside the car not in front of it.

The Supreme Court just said that they can’t nationalize the guard without the approval of the state.

Maybe Walz will spool it up to protect Americans from the ice babies.

You think? I’d guess if the NG is deployed it will be to protect peaceful protests..

Not a gun person, but doesn’t releasing the safety take time? And can that be done one handed?

He demonstrated nothing that looked like panic. Nothing. He kept filming with his cellphone the entire time. Hardly the behavior of a panicked person or a person in fear for their life.
