Plus she gets all the money already donated to the ticket. Womp womp.

You wish and I’m not even a Trump supporter. KH is a very weak candidate with no record to run on, was complicit in lying to the American public and could barely make a run for it in 2016. She may be historic - and I am excited by that - but it is not enough.

Sure. Whatever you say 🤭

dp. I'm now more hopeful than I was two days ago regarding this election, but PP is right.. KH is a weak candidate, and they really need do a good job selling her. The media and the right have been blaming her for the border mess for the past three years. She really needs to do damage control on that.

As for the rest, she's a non entity (as most VPs are), but she did have a weak showing in the primaries in 2020, so again, her team has a lot of work they need to do to raise her profile in a positive way. We have three months.

Hahahahahaha
That woman is a moron. She will do nothing but embarrass herself. She will fall out of that coconut tree for sure.

I laughed so hard…

No one becomes AG of California by falling out of any tree. You are the moron because your itsy bitsy, teeny weeny malehood is shrinking to nothing at the thought of a woman being elected president of the US. Get used to it glass bowl!

Huh? She ran and won in 2016.

She is a classless jerk, but the issue underlying it is very real. Harris cannot be perceived as hiding the truth of Biden’s health any more that she has already.

He’s 81 and has COVID. That has been announced. It’s not secret. It’s not a coverup. He’ll recover and he’ll speak to the nation. Or he won’t. But give him a week to recover before declaring him dead.

This is is last real shot to address the country in his career. He already stutters. Rs make fun of it. But, it’s a real issue. He doesn’t want to show up with a fever and coughing. I’ll grant him that.

Okay. No reason not to believe it. It’s not like Ronny Jackson wrote it. Biden said he’d talk to the nation this week. If he hasn’t by Friday evening, I’ll grant that some of your concerns might be valid. Deal?

tldr: Harris is getting a billion dollars 💸

i do not understand why when all the polling shows she has no pth.
can someone please explain why? am not allowed to start a new thread.

Cite your polling.

DP but she polls better than Biden in most categories with the exception of old white people. Also, before it was a hypothetical. Now it's reality. We'll see how much things change now that the Democrats have a fresh ticket instead of a tired old man with dementia. Haven't we all seen the Trump show before? It's a tired act. Harris brings a generational shift and fresh energy to the ticket at the top. And don't discount having the first woman President as being a thing for Democrats and younger voters.

+1. I’m raising two Gen Z voters. They would have voted with zero enthusiasm for Biden. But probably only because we raised our kids to believe voting is the responsibility of every adult citizen (kids had to go with one parent when they voted, if they did, we got Mellow Mushroom while we watched returns, etc). They are fired up. Which is essential. Because Boomers will always vote. Dem win if Gen Z turns out. But, Gen Z won’t turn out, writ large, for meh vs worse meh.

My GenZ kids aren’t fired up. One said he’d vote for Whitmer. Maybe they will be, but not yet…

are they going to vote for Trump?

DP. My GenZ kids are voting for the Republicans. They’ve made that very clear.

Should've raised them better...

They’re probably lying to their Republican parents to get them off their backs.

DP. It’s funny how you actually believe GenZ will uniformly vote for Democrats. Echo chamber, much?
- a GenZ voter

No demographic votes as a uniform block. But Gen Z breaks for Dems. “least religious, least Republican” demo. Let’s look at facts, shall we?

The difference being that Obama was actually a good orator. Kamala will string together her nonsense phrases and idiots will applaud. We’ve all seen it before.

Kamala is actually an excellent orator in places like the judiciary committee. Very sharp, precise and concise. She had trouble making the transition to dumbing it down for the masses and especially for being a sharp orator while still being “likeable” (which women must be. Otherwise they are b*thcy). She is a lawyer and was a prosecutor. That’s a different skill set than candidate. Hence the odd sharp remark with a laugh and smile that don’t match it in 2020.

I’m hoping three years of meets and greets and VP feel good stops have honed her soft skills. Because she is most definitely not dumb or incompetent or a poor communicator. She did have trouble dumbing it down in 2020 though. Let’s see what she’s learned.

Wait… you’re going to go with she has been “dumbing it down for the masses”?? Are you high?

I think the problem was that she couldn’t dumb it down for the masses well. Like it or not, if it can’t be a TikTok, a sound bite, a viral video clip or a meme, many Americans and tune it out. Lawyers are precise. And detailed. That is not the stuff of memes and viral videos (in a good way).

And that’s not necessarily defending her. Whether I like it or not, it’s a skill a politician needs in 2024. Capturing complex policy is a soundbite or viral video. She didn’t have it in 2020.

Harris was an underdog in that race because Cooley was a longtime popular incumbent Republican DA of Los Angeles County (who now that I’ve looked it up, beat coup plotter John Eastman in the GOP primary lol). Schwarzenegger was the governor at the time. It’s to her credit that she came from behind and won that race, not a slag. California was a very different place 15 years ago before your guy made the Republican Party insane.

I'm not a Republican, I'm a leftist/anarchist and I don't like Joe Biden. I do also notice some angry conservatives in this thread, but tbh I don't see a huge difference between Biden and Trump.

I'm relieved to have Kamala Harris as an option over Genocide Joe, but that doesn't mean I'm ok with this two-party system that is strangling my money and my right to exist in a real democracy.

You don’t exist in a democracy. You exist in a Democratic Republic. And if you want more options, you want a Parliamentary Democracy like much of Europe. That’s where consensus and coalition building and non-binary choice happen. But while we have the electoral college, that type of system is impossible here and a real third party can’t happen. That’s reality. I don’t like it. But I understand it is.

Yes and no. Yes— that’s huge. But, I’m among the 60%. And I might have voted for Biden because he’s ot Trump. But it would have been a hold your nose vote. Kamala excites me— but I’ve been a fan for years.
