I thought it was bad enough that bots seem to be proliferating even worse than they were before Musk. |
For visibility to people who work/worked at Twitter? Yeah? |
I thought everyone moved to Mastadon. Toot toot! |
Ehhh... I had a Twitter account since 2007, with thousands of followers. Back in November, shortly after Musk bought Twitter and announced his new $8 checkmark program I tweeted about what a bad idea it was to not validate or verify users because of the potential for impersonation and abuse. Shortly after that, someone with a checkmark pretending to be Boeing, and someone with a checkmark pretending to be Eli Lilly posted tweets that caused their stock shares to tumble evaporating billions in market value. Then, without explanation, I got a permanent suspension put on my account. I know of several other people who got booted from Twitter for legitimate critical commentary about Elon Musk, Twitter, and Tesla. |
