Any word on the new NVSL rules for the summer?

I would like to see covid guidelines for NVSL in writing. Time trials are next weekend and I do not want ro officiate in a mask. I believe my Team Reps support mask use. The NVSL website seems to be down for me as their website certificate has expired.

The guidelines will come out, but with the website having issues I imagine they can’t send the email.

Your team/club/HOA will be able to require masks regardless of what the NVSL puts out.

Well, my pool is maskless except in the bathroom, and I think the reps were more going along with NVSL. Waiting to see the guidelines before approaching Team Reps again

I see. I think it is going to be whatever the policy of the pool is. You’ll follow that for home and away meets.

And what NVSL puts out will only govern A meets, relays, Divisionals and all-stars. Your pool can always go “above” the guidelines for any home meet, and can always go “below” the guidelines for Time trials and B meets. Our pool and all the surrounding pools I know of plan to run B meets like 2019 irregardless of what NVSL says.

Hamlet is willing and wants to host them. Seniors at our pool desperately want them to happen. NVSL just needs to allow them. Hamlet has tons of room using the sports fields adjacent to their pool for team areas.

Has FCPS given permission to use the field areas yet? That might be one barrier.

There is also Spring Hill rec center for fields

There doesn’t need to be guidelines. No distance, no masks, no rules means normal season with no guidelines.

Ours is maskless unless you're unvaccinated, which means more than half the swim team. At our pool the guidelines are also on the board to decide, not the reps unilaterally although I'm assuming their recommendation carries great weight.

All-Star relays are canceled. Divisional Relays, Divisionals and All-Stars (individual) are TBD.

Oh crap. Doesn’t bode well for divisionals and relay carnival

I know some divisions are planning to hold relay carnival and divisionals regardless. I guess they won't be official? Or will NVSL take the times.

It is ridiculous to not have these meets.

I am okay with the 11 and unders wearing masks. Most of our older kids are vaccinated.

I think those will both be held.
