2021 VA Governors race

But right now the MOST important thing is getting a POC into the governor’s mansion. It’s long past time for that to happen, and then we can honestly say that finally Virginia has really and truly ripped out of the south and is part of America now.

Douglas Wilder says hello, and also that he had no credible allegations of sexual assault.

Hi Justin! Stop trying to make fetch happen.

J Fairfax is a worthy candidate for anyone willing to overlook his misogynistic indiscretions. Please, for the sake of humanity, tell me why someone like Jenn McClellan is less qualified to do this job. She has legislative experience, at a time when the VA legislation was R-led, showing she can be work across the lines, which is so important in VA. Then there is J Foy, who I don’t prefer, but I think will work tirelessly to represent the u def served communities. Let’s stop acting like flawed men are our only hope.

Terry sent his kids to privates and Langley HS, which is a quasi-private, but he'll support "equity" anywhere in the Commonwealth so long as it doesn't touch his privileged corner of McLean/Great Falls.

How is that different from most privileged, normie neoliberals? He’s a great fit!

This feels true. The wildly left lunge it feels like we have been taking on Ed issues is really alienating. I am voting D still but would feel more comfortable doing so if the D candidate starts distancing a bit from that after the primary.

LOL. He’s Trump trash still peddling The Big Lie.

He’s running on “restore confidence in voting process” and “restore commonwealth to greatness”. With Ted Cruz.

Dude has ZERO chance.

Virginia traditionally elects of a Governor from the other party than the President after a Presidential election.

McAuliffe is such an obvious phony. He doesn't believe half the words that come out of his mouth. He only cares about money and power. Carroll Foy runs on nothing other than her gender and skin color. Carter is a radical socialist with the maturity of a child. Fairfax is an accused sex offender. The Democrats have only one decent candidate - in both the literal and figurative sense of the word - in Jennifer McClellan, and she may not be high-energy enough for the D voters.

Youngkin would presumably tack towards the center if he gets through a R primary. I would not count him out at all.

Didn’t McClellan introduce the ethics bill? I like that!

You mean like Ed Gillespie did?

It's impossible for any Republican to 'tack towards the center' anymore. Whoever the Rs nominate will spew the usual far right talking points and McAuliffe will win by 10.

Youngkin is not in the center and I am so confused as to why DCUM folk keep suggesting he is! He is fully on the trump train, sells the big lie and on board with changes to voting. The Post had a great story today making it clear that there are no more moderate Republicans. Draft proposals to math curriculum that have already been walked back are not a reason to vote R and support the trash who attacked the Capitol.

Seriously, how ignorant is that PP to forget we already had a “POC”
Governor.

+1 The poster is an ignorant fool and Doug Wilder would not be thrilled with Justin’s conduct.
