I don't think it seems worse. I think the community has been responding admirably during the pandemic, with the gift cards for groceries and now the food donation drive. The PTSA online meetings with administrators have been really helpful and well-attended (compared to in-person anyway). |
| A bunch of teachers did leave after last year. I think last year's one-year principal was unpopular with the faculty, and they didn't know until late March of 2020 that she wouldn't be returning this school year. |
| Einstein is a diverse school. Studies show that affluent kids or kids with parents with advanced degrees will do well in any school. The same is true for Einstein. The white kids will have the added benefits that come from going to school with a diverse group of kids. |

I think the issue is that the parent community (which is so friendly) is not as entitled and demanding as at wealthier schools. They tend to take the administration's excuses and inepitude at face value and don't demand better.
It sounds un-PC but IMO parents make so many excuses for bad teaching etc in the name of their liberal progerssive values. No one wants to stand up and say - this sucks, and I demand better for fear of being seen as not understanding of equity issues or whatever. We have liked our time there, but I will be glad to get away from the liberal do-gooder types that ABOUND on the PTA etc. |
I agree with this. It especially upsets me when parents ask questions on the listserv and are attacked for not taking into account students who come from lower income families. It is very off putting. This has happened repeatedly. |
I agree with this but I meant for a 9th grader new to the school, not the parent community. They are online so they don’t see the positives of the school, only that she has several terrible teachers and that the school is poorly run. |
The world needs more entitled, self-absorbed, UMC families!

This seems like a feature, not a bug. |
| LOL, like that's a reason to send your kid t that falling school. |

| The principal didn't come back? I liked her. |
It's not a failing school. Why are you so mean? |
Sometimes the truth hurts. |
Yep - and they spend so much time patting themselves on the back for their amazing progressive projects. Like - how about advocating for some basics, like getting rid of terrible teachers, or improving the counseling department, etc. |
She left in July to become president of the administrators' union. |
