Do you know any wealthy people who actually drive low-key cheap cars?

I’d call Kias cheap. Do rich people drive Kias?

+1

I would still drive a Honda/Toyota, etc. even if I was loaded because these brands LAST.

And I agree that Kias are the cheapest cars on the roads.
They basically scream out “I wish I had the means for a better brand - but this is all I can afford!”

I'd never drive a Kia. You might as well buy a Daewoo.

“Why an NFL player who earns millions still drives a 26-year-old car he bought for $2“

Head to any wealthy beach town in New England. Count the Jeep Wagoneers.

It makes them feel better about driving a depressing piece of junk to pretend all nice cars are driven by stupid overextended broke people and all modest cars are driven by smart rich people. It’s hilariously sad. Just admit you can’t afford nice wheels. Jeez.

you're back!

They have no other cars?

There is no luxury minivan. For people who want the practicality of a van, their choices are fairly limited.

Yep Mackenzie Bezos drives a Honda Odyssey. She’s loaded but she’s also a single mom of four.

She is a broke striver. If she had real $$$ she'd be in an Audi Q7 or BMW X3.

Some cheap cars don’t look cheap. I drive a
9 year old Cadillac I bought used.

I find it funny when folks in new Camrys go wow a Cadillac. I have taken it to weddings, even a funeral possession. It is not worth much. Funny I had to drive to VA for work and my staff who has new accord and Camry cars said let’s take Cadillac

You can’t fit four kids in an X3.

My grandparents were worth millions and drove a minivan and an American pickup truck until they stopped driving. They didn’t start out wealthy though.

My mom drives some kind of Toyota. My dad drives a Ford Pick Up. They have a gorgeous home. They spend money on travel, clothes, jewelry, ....and they give a lot to charity. Vehicles aren’t important to them. I’ve noticed the same in their wealthy friends. Driving flashy cars is more of a new money thing.

With a side of slavery.

Nah. Most of these people are carpetbaggers who came in after the Civil War and scooped up the land for cheap when the plantation owners couldn't pay the taxes. (Doesn't mean they didn't exploit the labor afterward, though).

No!! I personally don’t know anyone with money who drives an average car . That is definitely a myth. My multimillionaire DH bought me a Mercedes SUV for shopping and a gorg white Bentley for cruising. All our wealthy friends drive Porsche’s, Range Rovers, Rolls Royce’s, pretty much anything over 75k. I think old wealthy people will start driving clunkers when their driving skills start to decline. Years ago I was sideswiped by an 80 yr old driving a piece of crap and she was worth millions!!
