You are so proving their point! |
How is reclining your seat “abuse” sometimes and not others? |
|
Airlines allow me to recline.
I will recline if I want to. Just as I don't have any recourse if someone in front of me reclines. I'm sorry if you're in the last row but if it's that important you should have figured it out earlier and paid extra for a better seat. |
All of this. All seats are not created equal and better seats are priced accordingly. Angry dude literally has the 3rd worst seat on the plane (the middle and window next to him are worse IMO, at least he had an aisle.) He should have booked earlier and/or paid for a better seat assignment. |
That’s fine with me. This is war now! The reclining army cometh |
Completely agree! I’m not going to make myself uncomfortable (when the person in front of me reclines) so the person behind me may have “his” space. That person could also recline or if he’s in a non reclining seat (like in this scenario), he should have planned better by booking earlier or buying a better seat if he absolutely need that small extra room. |
This is the most stupid noncommittal response ever. Either you are for reclining or not. He just wants passengers to duke it out themselves. If seats can be reclined then passengers may do it if they want. If reclining is not encouraged then just make seats non reclining like Spirit and be done with it. I don’t like Spirit but flew them once and even though seats were small, I knew at least I won’t have anyone literally on my lap, which made my flight somewhat better |
The "me me me" applies to the man - he is the one that wanted special accommodation. The woman was just making use of an amenity that she paid for. The man was demanding that she not use what she paid for; he was demanding to use the space that was meant to be for her. |
Wrong, that space is meant to be used for reclining. So the rightful owner of that space is the person reclining. |

I'm a petite female and have always reclined my seat. People always recline in front of me as well. I never knew this was considered rude until I read about it on here a year ago.
I have also had a lap child (3 kids) and can't ever remember it being an issue. We choose shorter flights. I think this is a problem for tall and fat people. If you are really tall, you should upgrade to extra leg room or pay for business class. If you are fat, you should buy 2 seats instead of taking up part of my seat. This has happened to me before. This lady's leg was taking up half my leg space and her arm was totally in my seat. I wanted to switch seats but I sucked it up for an hour because it was a short flight. When I had a squirmy toddler, I bought her a seat even though she wasn't 2 yet. It was not a problem when she was a handheld infant. |
You are assuming everybody has the same economic means. |
You are giddy at the thought of ruining somebody’s day. Who is the obnoxious one? |
Then drive or don't fly. You shouldn't be spilling over to the seat next to you. You also shouldn't start banging on the seat in front of you because they are reclining. I'm all for paying extra for a no kids section or quite section of the plane. I have kids and think that would be a good idea. |
You can't win against the reclining army, my rotund friend |
