Can you please explain why think VDA 05 is better than McLean 05 and Arlington 05? They lost to McLean. Arlington is second place in their division of DA behind FCV for 05.

Agree here...I don't think VDA cracks the top 5 and is actually near the bottom. I mentioned before the season they would experience a dip this season based on the coaching staff and player moves. That seems to be showing in their results.

Why is Discovery cup groups stage a joke? Bethesda ECNL 05 had to face 2 teams that are in top 100 nationally during the group stage. Granted, McLean had a much easier groupt, but Maryland United ECNL team still finished last in that group. By comparison, North Toronto, which won its group in the top bracket of WAGs had to face only 1 team ranked in the top 100 during the group stage, Delaware FC and Beach FC, which also won their groups in the top bracket of WAGs face ZERO team ranked in the top 100 nationally. One could easily make an argument that in this age group it was easier for a top team to advance from the group stage in WAGs.

You are probably right, but WAGs also had a bunch of 6-0, 5-0 scores at the group stage in this age group. The top teams in both tournaments did not have much of a challenge in this age group at the group stage.

McLean 05 is not playing the beautiful game like their current 19s. They win some games but it is parking the bus and kicking it long to their single striker. Just like the 04s. Maybe it will change when they recruit 10 new players next year or maybe not because of dilution.

Give Bethesda some credit. The team just merged. Most of the girls have been focused on HS. The team has practiced once a week. This weekend might have been the first time they have practiced and they crushed respectable competition. I expect that they will only get better from here.
