It's not though, especially on college campuses. The extreme hatred for Israel has often morphed into a threatening environment for Jews more broadly.

Why are you changing the subject from "liberal government cities" to "college campuses"? If anti-Semitism is running amok in liberal cities, there should be enough examples in those cities without needing to change the subject. Also, while sometimes opposition to Israeli policies overlaps with anti-Semitism, it is also true that proponents of Israel sometimes use allegations of anti-Semitism to stifle legitimate criticism. This could be a continuous debate in itself and is completely off-topic to this thread.

I didn't change the subject. I said "especially" on campus; that hardly excludes anti-Semitism in cities, which is plainly also an issue. And I brought up Israel as a frequent (although hardly exclusive) reason for the anti-Semitism from the left. More traditional anti-semitism from the right tends to have different route causes.

Even you acknowledge anti-Israel sentiments can, at times, cross over into broader anti-semitism so mentioning that as a frequent reason for anti-semitism on the left. (And I will agree that sometimes supporters of Israel will claim reasonable criticism of Israel is anti-semitism, although that discussion which you initiated, does seem somewhat off topic.)

Yup. This is what I've been trying to get across when liberals talk about the neo-Nazi groups on the alt-right, and proudly exclaiming how you don't find outright hatred like that on the left. No, I say, the minuscule number of people who marched in Charlottesville is nowhere near as concerning to me as the tolerance (or minimizing) of the antisemtitsm on the left. From my own personal perspective am I frustrated if a video surfaces of a cop shouting racial expletives while beating black man who is not resisting arrest, heck yeah the outright bigotry is disgusting, but I totally get where you’re coming from cause I’m more angered by the tolerance of other officers who don’t say shit and allow such individuals to have a gun and a badge and patrol minority communities knowing what kind of people they are. I definitely feel you. But just like it’d be overzealous on my part to go full-fledged N.W.A and say, “F___ the police!” cause that attitude only exacerbates the problem the same applies to this, “F____ the liberals!” attitude. It don’t help shit. We gotta uproot out the weeds by all means we can’t piss on the whole damn lawn.

(Reminds me when my then 6-year-old daughter snuck a little toy in her pocket at the store. My husband wanted to just forget it since it was such a minor infraction. No way, Jose! I did not want to teach our daughter than shoplifting a $5 item isn't so bad, or next time, she'd try to see if she could get away with a bigger theft. Plus I did not want her bragging to her friends that she stole a toy, and Mommy had no problem with it. I made her go back to the store with me, toy in hand, and admit to the owner that she took it and was wrong to do so.)

I am glad that Lopez was forced to resign but very disappointed that Trayon, who now seems to delight in showing disrespect to Jewish people, even a rabbi, will face no consequences.

I wouldn't judge White solely on the basis of his reactions on camera - a DC Councilmember casually chowing down while a rabbi practically cries over an antisemitic speech delivered outside the Wilson Building - if he hadn't already gave indications and been criticized for possible antisemitic attitudes himself. Combine that with his demonstrated disregard for Jewish suffering and and his adamant refusal to condemn a Farrakhan follower's disgusting anti-Jewish words - as well as the Farrakhanite's anti-Semitic attack against a fellow Councilmember.- and we have an openly blatant anti-Semite on the DC Council.

Maybe they can get him on improper use of public funds (sort of like getting Capone in tax evasion).

Lopez knows where all the figurative bodies are buried for Bowser (and Fenty), and he's known to hold grudges (just ask Mary Cheh). There was no way she could have fired him.
