So horrifying for the girl if it is true. And for her family. Sounds like it was pretty brutal.

Rape is serious stuff. Everyone is entitled to
their opinion. This blog is a tip of the iceberg
as the media are really the trolls. They can
not wait to break this story wide OPEN!

So the media is going to disclose the names of those involved, breaking every tenant of journalistic ethics that still remain? Beyond that, what is there to tell?

How about just the Where, When and Why?

I am curious, no one will discuss who. The media already reported when. Where? Someone on campus. Why? Seriously?

Because they are minors.

Let me retry, but I am agreeing, they are presumably minors:

Who: minors
Where: somewhere on campus
When: Reported that it occurred at 2:30
Why: Seriously?

The police report was filed so the authorities will handle the rape and should prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

+1. Both of them

Wait - so your position is that a young woman has been raped, and reported it, but if, in the course of the investigation it is determined that she broke another school rule, she should be expelled?

Holy shit.

I mean, I knew there were some crazy people out there (see Trump, Donald, and primary voters thereof), but it's rare that I interact, even online, with the soulless.

You are assuming a lot here. Just because she reported this as rape does not mean the investigation will bear this out. Hello Rolling Stone magazine

There are cameras covering almost every square inch of that school

it is important to note, consent is not implied just because they had a previous sexual relationship.
No consent = rape
I hope her identity is kept private and they all get proper counseling. Devastating for all indeed.

I must add here, sex in HS often has devastating consequences for all involved. It's a very sad thing.

I'm sorry you either had a bad experience in HS or didn't have an experience you wanted, but starting a sexual relationship with my boyfriend at 17 was a healthy and wonderful thing for me and I don't regret it for one second.

Just curious, where did you go to have sex? That's one of my major concerns with teens...it's so dangerous. Are they in the back of a car? A cheap hotel? On my furniture when I'm not home?

Bingo! Most have it at home when the parents are not there. The real danger is the lack of information these kids have about sex.

What information have you and your friends failed to share with the kids?

Maybe women are not respected at Sidwell. There is a formal thread dated below talking about publishing the hottest girls in the
school paper?

This freaks me out. If a rape can happen on sidwel campus with all the students and faculty in broad daylight and security cameras, what can happen at my large public school?

Maybe women don't respect themselves?

This is just a really sad and scary story no matter what the outcome. It is going to end up that either the boy really did indeed rape a girl and get convicted and ruined his and his family lives. And put a poor girl thru a lifetime of hell/nightmares that no one this age should have to deal with.

Or the girl made up the story after realizing having sex with him again was a big mistake/or was at risk getting caught/revenge. And then he will have to live with the hell of being known as a rapist even if he was proven not guilty. And she will be known as the girl who cried wolf. And both of their lives are ruined.

This is going to be a lot of he said/she said because you want to believe the girl but if they are exes why were they alone somewhere on campus during school hours where no one could see struggling or hear her screaming.

I am a parent of another private school and I really feel for Sidwell right now. This shows them in such a poor light but it should not diminish what a great school it is. We play sports with them all of the time and they are some of the nicest coaches and students. Hope this gets resolved quick.

Just another reason I prefer same sex-schools for both sexes. Keep dating/sex/competition out of the schools.

Enough.

I don't like how certain outlets are throwing in the POTUS daughters in the headline for clicks. In these kinds of cases minors are not identified so it's unfair to use the First Daughters name in a headline involving rape/sex assault/sex abuse.

The headline from Jezebel is: "D.C. Police Investigating Rape Report at Sasha and Malia Obama's School"
