The students and parents loved him at STAB. He was brought there to rebuild their program, which he did instantly - three straight VISSA state finals, winning the last two. He is one of the most likable people I've met in the lax world. The guys' recruiting game is ELITE.

| Any truth to the rumor that King is being replaced at GZ? Not sure if retiring or fired. Heard from multiple sources that frustration with King has reached a boiling point and their record isn't helping matters. Sounds like there is as much shake up in the coaching around the DMV is there is with players. |
One can hope. |
|
It’s only a matter of time before king either voluntarily steps down or the admin steps in.
If they have another sub par season, the whole staff will be gone. |
| What's with the King talk now? What have I missed? There was an earlier post in this forum or another showing how the program has gone down (in terms of rankings) every year under him. Not sure if this is the basis for this rumor or if there has been something else I missed. At least GZ still has a rugby program to be proud of. |

They have a navy guy who was apparently taking a leading role in regular season. Heir apparent? Anybody know his name or bona fides? |
Navy guy is not the answer. DC that played for the terps is legit. OC upgrade badly needed. |
| is bell bringing his assistants from STAB or is he keeping the existing coordinators? those guys could HC elsewhere if not. |
| HS assistants don’t normally follow the HC, but who knows. Wouldn’t surprise me if STAB announces Lars Tiffany as new HC and the assistants stay under him. |
Sounds like GZ has a lax program culture problem, so nothing is going to change until they fix that. Suppose that's what you get when your HC isn't a part of the school in any way. Sort of a deadbeat dad. Don't believe any of the other coaches at GZ are part of the school either. PVI apparently doesn't seem to suffer from the same toxicity, which may be why so many kids are transferring (or trying to transfer) there. |
What toxicity/culture problems are you talking about here? Big leap to that conclusion from what was written above. |
I assume they're talking about prior posts discussing multiple kids leaving Gonzaga, parents' frustrations there, part-time coach not creating the best culture, and so on. Whether or not "toxic" is the best choice of words, it's not a great leap to say there is definitely smoke at Gonzaga. |
K fair enough, good answer and thanks |
Yep - Toxic is probably not the best choice of words. All good people doing their best from what I can gather. “Not ideal” better describes it. |
