2027 Private School Boys Lacrosse Commentary, Scores, and Updates

IAC next spring is going to be dominated by GP and Landon going forward.

Maybe STA can operate as the dark horse from time to time.

Prep is going all in with the boarding approach and leveraging the dorms to bring in players to fill in the holes due to graduation departures.

I think losing their OC will have a much bigger impact on the team than what people realize. I'd expect them to take a significant step back next year.

Who is that and where is he going?

SJC graduates a ton while GZ brings back most of their squad.

Bullis needs to hire a HC, hard to gauge how they will be in 2027 until this is completed.

STA will be a bit more competitive.

GC is here to stay and will remain a top 4 team in the WCAC.

SJCs biggest replacement will be at goalie

GC and PVI graduated a ton

GZ ‘28 goalie is leaving. Maybe to SJC? GZ is losing 3 ‘28s. Any word on a replacement for King? Not a good look to be losing recruits junior year, especially to PVI

Why would lax kids be leaving GZ. The talent is thin so there should be plenty of playing time opportunity. Also, GZ just had one of the best commits of the class with the Harvard announcement.

A program of that caliber needs a full time coach. There is little to no mentorship or development coming from that program and parents are starting to realize it. The coach is rarely available, often unresponsive to text and emails and uninvolved in recruiting. If I had to choose now, I’d send my son to Prep.

If I had a freshman today I’d say Prep or SJC if they want to play college

If development is a major focus, Landon should be in the mix too, given their deep coaching roster on campus.

After this spring, it's clear that there's lots of parity and good lacrosse in the area. Be interesting to see if anything else happens in the coaching carousel beyond Bullis job being open.

If I had a freshman today living in the DC area, I'd say Landon and SJC. Half of GP's starters are currently boarders and next year will be at least the same given the lineup and possibly more if more kids transfer in. Throw Bullis in the mix if they get a good coach along with GC, but GC is not particularly close to attract much more than already have.

I hear that Mitchell, Incces, Gilby, and White are on the short list for the Bullis HC position. Are there other names being thrown around?

PVI makes sense if it’s geographically related. The commute into Gonzaga can be brutal - especiallly if you live anywhere near PVI.

If I lived in NoVa, I'd add SSSAS to the mix. Trial by fire, but he'd be very battle tested coming into his post-sophomore summer.
