Feels more like what happens when a lot of low-grade dunking builds up and people finally push back all at once. Looking through this forum, you can see little jabs. When someone finally called it out, the floodgates opened. |
No. The very first post of the thread was purposeless and mean-spirited. |
But it wasn't the first instance of dunking on this forum... |
Oh God, no lol. But it’s a textbook example of the meanness and vitriol that people bring with their anonymity. And it has zero purpose except to be hurtful. People need therapy. And better hobbies. |
So which former board president are you talking about? |
And which school are you saying is not? |
Any private school worth going to is going to have privileged kids. |
Names get removed so you aren't going to get an answer. |
As a former UrbanBaby habitué I appreciate your post and the accompanying snark! |
Omg the good snark days 😂 there isn't as much good snark on the internet as there used to be... it's like seeing a standup comedy show on your lunch break! |
It's because the name doesn't exist. Nobody is guaranteed admission because a former board chairman wrote them a recommendation. I don't even think it would help very much. A great recommendation from their previous teacher is probably more impactful. If you're going to lie, make it something believable. This just seems like someone bitter about being rejected by Potomac that wants to believe the admissions process is so corrupt that their Larlo never stood a chance. Their Larlo never stood a chance because their Larlo is just not competitive in the pool of applicants. |
...it was said by a donating alumni who still holds the school in a positive light as an explanation for why this culture shows up... |
I agree with this. At my kids private Non-Big 3 school the Head of Admissions is notorious for rejecting kids who get recs from board members along with rejecting big money parents, siblings and children of alumni. Also LOL @ Larlo, although it sounds more Brooklyn than DMV. |
Yes!!!! Can I throw one in for old times sake: Whoever chose the gala theme Wild About Potomac was spot on... I just don't think it's wildly positive 🐅 |
That has to be a joke. 😂 Definitely some staff member who secretly can’t wait to leave. Hilarious! |
