I don’t find anything unusual about this whole story otherwise.

Surgeon guy probably has mental health issues or is an abuser, addict etc. He would’ve known that he would be a prime suspect and be caught fairly easily- and didn’t care (or was entirely out of his mind). As someone else said, he might have intended to kill himself as well and then couldn’t go through with it.

At least he didn’t harm the kids or the dog.

I find it somewhat unusual in that 10 years had passed since the divorce, the surgeon was living in an entirely different city but apparently had not remarried or moved on, and there were no child custody or alimony issues.

+1 it is unusual that he couldn’t get over their marriage/divorce in the last 10 years.

Makes me assume there’s more to it, ex. the two men knew each other from college.

No, she met the dentist online.

I wonder if this would have happened 25 years ago before social media. I wonder if that allowed him a window into what they were up to and what he was missing out on.

Doubt it. The dentist was two years younger, Ohio State is huge, and they were from different parts of Ohio.

You can google image search her wedding picture to husband one. He looked a little different but not a lot

As in an actual dating app or just reconnected on Facebook? How do you know that?

We’ll never know the motive, so what’s the point of speculating. It’s not like this surgeon is ever going to come clean. He’s also probably a suicide risk.

In regular photos the surgeon looks as handsome as the dentist. Both pretty normal, slightly above average looking white men. You all calling him ugly and obviously scary based on a mugshot are being silly.

DP. Heard this reported. Didn't specify the app.

He was 2 years younger than she, so doubt they were reconnecting.

Wackos have been killing exes and their current lovers long before social media. On Dateline often a paramour or new spouse is talked into killing the ex.

People are nuts, including people with prestige credentials and high-paying careers.

I work in medicine and millennial doctors are majority at least slightly autistic tiger cubs groomed by overbearing parents. They’re overwhelmingly weird and neurotic.

Their obituary said that they met online.

Killing her AND the new husband makes it seem personal on some level with the new spouse, doesn’t it? But they didn’t have kids, so it wasn’t like he had any on-going interaction with the new spouse, right. And he didn’t harm their kids.

Or maybe the guy just lost his freaking mind tens years after the divorce. Maybe even new mediation / SSRI with dangerous side effects.

I’m glad the dog is ok but goes to show how useless goldendoodles are.
