Care to explain? The only thing I can think of is Maryland is more blue, predominantly due to demographics (smaller white population percentage). |
It's not just that. I'm finding needles on the ground in parking lots now, where I never did before. A lot of crime happens to keep drug habits going. It has really ramped up. |
Where? |
You seem to assume most (or all?) Latino immigrants are undocumented. That is not correct. People move where their families are. |
Maryland and MoCo give more free social services and benefits to low income individuals and illegal immigrants than most jurisdictions do. Those freebies draw more of that population to the county. |
No, but I’m assuming they most or all Latino immigrants have at least one family member or members of their social sphere that are undocumented, so even if they have papers they are more driven towards sanctuary jurisdictions if given the choice. I think that’s a fair assumption, but please correct me if I am incorrect oh mighty expert on the “LatinX” community. |
My thought is that you should do basic research before posting. Your belief that MoCo as more Latino immigrants than Fairfax County is incorrect. It's about 20% in both counties. |
|
Montgomery County is the second most livable community in the country:
https://livabilityindex.aarp.org/top-communities You all should try moving elsewhere if you're displeased. I think this is a great place to live. |
That you’re citing an article from AARP, an organization that literally represents retirees, doesn’t say much. The fact that MoCo has so many more retirees and the only new big development being built near Montgomery Mall is a housing complex for retirees is part of its problem. It’s a county in decline, heralded by an organization that represents a population that’s literally in decline. No economist would ever would say that a formula for economic dynamism for a county was attracting more old folks and poor migrants than neighboring counties while being the most unwelcoming county for businesses in the area as well. |
Yeah it’s a great place for geriatrics for the next 5-10 years until they all croak lmao |
| The impact fees are too high for single family and townhouses. |
Umm, ok. Did you look at the other counties that made the list? Fairfax and Arlington are on there. |
| I’ve spent a lot of time recently in Ballston and Silver Spring, and some time in McLean/Tysons and Bethesda. I don’t know the policy specifics, but Arlington clearly figured out a way to attract residential development and retail, and Fairfax has attracted large employers. In contrast, Silver Spring and Bethesda seem old and worn out and going downhill. |
Oh shut up this is not true. The number one snap recipient is white christian. Undocumented bring billions to the economies in this country. White folks just install pedos and criminals and steal from hard working Americans. MOCO is fine. It is MAGA idiots that are the problem. |
Oh BS. MAGA cult of stupidity is all over this thread. Take your stupidity elsewhere. Move to Alabama or Idaho or Oklahoma history of repukes there will fit your narrative perfectly you pedo loving shits. |
