Why is ICE only going after the low-hanging fruit?

These Proud Boys are cosplaying in ICE and having a "good time" while not taking any risks whatsoever.

Of course they aren't going after gang members who actually might fight back.

Your knowledge of HSI/ICE seems very limited. They function like any other law enforcement entity. They have standard agents and they have SRT which is their SWAT team. The higher the risk the more likely SRT will be deployed.

The CBP special operations BORTAC team is significantly more capable than ICE SRT. They have been cleared to come off the border and into the interior of the country to help capture illegally present migrants. Your tune will change very quickly when their helicopters swoop in. Then you’ll be upset that they’re militarized.

BORTAC members were the people that finally showed up at Uvalde and told everyone to get out of their way. The went right in and took out the shooter.

Apparently, yes. That’s our new reality. When the six masked ICE agents swarmed the Turkish student in Somerville Massachusetts on the street, she said something about calling the police and one of them said “we are the police.” ICE is not “the police.” They also make mistakes. All the time.

If you see the masked gestapo abducting anyone without a warrant and without identifying themselves, get video and call the police to report a possible abduction.

Filing a false police report is a crime.

if the people doing the kidnapping do not properly identify themselves as police, it isn't a crime on the part of the person doing the reporting.

Police are not required to identify themselves to uninvolved parties. Police work undercover all the time.

Six illegal aliens took the life of this mother. Three are juveniles. Truly disgusting.

🚨 Six illegal Aliens shot and killed mother of 2 in South Carolina

Larisha Sharrell Thompson, was shot behind the wheel of her vehicle in what is believed to be an attempted robbery.

• Those arrested include three juveniles — ages 13, 14 and 15 — who have not been identified because of their age.
—— Along with Jeyson Sobied Pineda-Salgado, 17, Jarby Ardon Ramos-Odari, 18, and Asael Aminadas Torres-Chirinos, 21, they are charged with murder, attempted armed robbery and second-degree burglary.

No one has a problem with violent criminals being jailed and/or deported. No one. How many times do we have to repeat it. I'll shout it from the rooftops: NO ONE HAS A PROBLEM WITH VIOLENT CRIMINALS BEING DEPORTED.

So we agree. But now you have to address the FACTS:

1) Study after study after study show that illegal immigrants commit fewer crimes than US citizens, that crime rates go DOWN as immigrant populations grow.

* American Immigration Council. (n.d.). Debunking the Myth of Immigrants and Crime.
*Jácome, E., et al. (2023). Law-Abiding Immigrants: The Incarceration Gap Between Immigrants and the U.S.-born, 1850–2020. National Bureau of Economic Research Working Paper No. 31448.
*Light, M. T., & Miller, T. (2020). Comparing crime rates between undocumented immigrants, legal immigrants, and native-born US citizens in Texas. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 117(49), 30931-30937.

If you actually care about crime, targeting illegal immigrants is not the way to fix it.

2) ICE is not targeting criminals! As OP says, they are going after the easy targets: law-abinging citizens with predictable routines on the way to work; kids on the way to school; mothers picking up US citizens kids form school.

Those of us who do care about crime realize that deporting these people is absolutely not helping.

NP. I tried to fact check this story and no local news sources like the Boston Globe, WBUR, or Boston area non-Fox TV stations confirm the details in this x post. I am not going to take Faux News' word for it. Given the fact that Fox News is MAGA State News and the fact that ICE lacks transparency on their operations, I'm going to need to see more evidence on this or any other Faux News claim before I believe it.

For MAGA that haven't heard about this story, the Trump administration admitted 17 relatives of Sinaloa cartel leaders, including the ex-wife of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, who crossed into the U.S. as part of negotiations with Ovidio Guzmán López, who was extradited in 2023. Mexican Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch indicated this was likely part of a cooperation agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, possibly for witness protection or plea negotiations, though details remain unclear.

I’m confused. Are people here unaware of the concept of criminal informants and the existence of the witness protection program? It sounds like the DOJ has a CI with expansive knowledge of the Sinaloa Cartel’s organizational structure. How is this a bad thing? High value assets in witness protection remain under the watchful eye of federal law enforcement.

“Let me be direct, to the leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel, you are no longer the hunters, you are the hunted. You will be betrayed by your friends, you will be hounded by your enemies, and you will ultimately find yourself and your face here in a courtroom in the Southern District of California,” Gordon said.

I now understand why so many of these ICE agents are wearing masks. They aren't ICE agents and did not sign up for this task. Apparently, DHS/HSI has tapped all branches (FBI, USSS, DEA, ATF, and even IRS) to send agents for ICE taskforces. They are hiding their faces because they don't want to be doxxed when they didn't sign up to do ICE raids & deportations.

This friend wants out. He also said ATF is a mess with no leadership. He's pushing through to July which is his 20year mark.

And think about what isn't happening...ATF staffing doing aTF jobs, FBI counterterrorism, not doing their jobs, FBI domestic terrorism, not doing their jobs. We are going to have more catastrophic events because there is no one minding the store.

The students, Yunqing Jian, 33, and Zunyong Liu, 34, were in a romantic relationship last July, when U.S. authorities say Mr. Liu arrived in the country carrying small bags of the fungus Fusarium graminearum, which causes a disease that can cripple wheat, barley, maize and rice.

The disease, head blight, is a familiar problem for American farmers, particularly in Northern and Eastern states, according to research funded by the Agriculture Department that has tracked it in 32 states last year. The fungus can be particularly damaging to winter wheat crops.

Ms. Jian was arrested and booked in the federal courthouse in Detroit; Mr. Liu is believed to be in China. The criminal charges come as tensions mount between the United States and China over the Trump administration’s vow to “aggressively” revoke student visas for Chinese nationals. Such students, the administration says, risk siphoning off sensitive technology or trade secrets from American labs for the benefit of their home country.

The new case is distinct from most past national security cases related to Chinese students. Ms. Jian and Mr. Liu are accused not of taking material out of the United States, but of bringing it in. And charging papers specifically cite Ms. Jian’s written pledge of loyalty to the Communist Chinese Party.[b]

This is why it's important to question the presence of so many Chinese CCP students at Harvard. It also supports Rubio's efforts to scrutinize every student visa to determine if any individuals intend to cause harm or unrest in the US.

This is high level trolling / social media by a fed agency.

No, it's putting people on notice while embracing how people get their news — meeting the American people where they are.

I know you liberal elites love to sit in your smoking jackets in the sun room reading the NYT, but that isn't the reality for the vast majority of people.

Filing a false police report is a felony. And if you are not the person being detained, they don't need to prove anything to you.

Considering how the administration is now cracking down on activist for interfering with their arrests, I would not FAFO to only end up with federal felony charges.
