Not sure we’ll be allowed in Europe anymore. Who wants to go to Moscow? No one actually |
You mean logical and well reasoned? I agree. It’s quite refreshing compared to other forums with maga moms worried about vaccines, gay children and trafficking in their neighborhoods. |
Well, yeah. It probably means they’re going to war to fight off Putin’s aggression, and maybe ours, too. Wouldn’t you be pissed? FFS WE ARE NOW ALIED WITH RUSSIA AND NORTH KOREA. This is the upside down. |
I'm mad that we reelected Trump too.
No way am I getting on a plane right now. We plan on doing a driving vacation to a blue state at this point. |
Every single day with this incompetent, horrific, and evil administration is completely exhausting. |
After today's turn of events, I don't want to go to England this fall. We may be in the middle of WWIII by then, and even if that is hyperbolic, I'm not wanting to travel abroad at this point.
I have no idea what, if any, options we have regarding the money we spent on biz class flights to London for the October trip. I'm going to have DH look into it tonight (I don't have the emotional bandwith to deal with it). |
If you can afford it, go. I have found the Brits to be wonderful hosts. They know half of the voters voted against Trump. |
Buy this summer there may be a full fledged measles outbreak in the US. I wouldn't put any deposits down on travel right now. |
All travel plans on hold until we know how bad the economy is going to get. Low confidence that it will be ok by summer. |
We are going to visit our 4th home for spring break. We plan to summer at our 5th house. Economy be damned, we deserve a vacation. |
Nope. Already booked. |
This is going to be a haves/have nots divide, just like everything else.
As much as it comes as a shock to those on the Jobs board, a lot of us are not feds and not worried about job loss. |
Yeah, well, I’m reconsidering my trip because of likely instability (or worse) in Europe and the potential for negative perceptions about Americans there. |
I think anyone who thinks fed cuts and the impetus behind what Trump is doing won’t potentially have an effect on them too is delusional. That does not mean I think everyone is at imminent risk of job loss but if you think this starts and stops at a few hundred thousand feds, you’re being blindly confident. I think it’s very plausible the man tanks the economy to the degree a lot of people who felt themselves impervious will be stunned to realize they weren’t. |
+1 Plus, it's to visit my family, and my mom has dementia. I can't keep putting it off. But, it will be low key. Just visiting friends and family, though we will probably spend a lot dining out because when we visit it's always around eating. That's just my culture. |
