Backlash against college educated women

They do want to have kids but they don’t want to be married to one. They want an equal partner. But I guess that’s too much to ask of men so they threw a huge hissy fit.

Equal partner = everything on my terms and nothing the man wants. Real catches...

Just look at the majority of posts on this site. Some seriously out of touch and angry people on the left. It would be concerning if they weren't such marshmallows.

Out of touch with what? The price of eggs being related to avian flu? Or the actual causes of inflation? Or the right bringing up trans stuff as a wedge issue repeatedly (every post I've seen about it on this site has generally been some MAGA type ranting that this impacts me more as a woman than abortion legislation).

Just because people who are educated don't fall for the right's propaganda, they are marshmallows?

Read that again and tell us where this leads. Maybe the Bud Light dude can have kids. You have been successfully brainwashed by your own government. It was just a different path than what communist China did.

Not the PP, but I’d say the election results pretty definitely show how out of touch DCUM liberals are.

Moms stressed out from work? Moms are buying homes and cars and educations for their kids and teaching their sons and daughters how to do the same.

Agree.

It’s the dads who are stressed out with working and raising kids. So stressed out they shut down and lash out and hide at work longer and on weekends!

Or watching tv

Or video games

Or golf

Or the bar

Or napping and sleeping

Or rage and yell

Anything to avoid parenting and household things.

My mother is retired so I guess that is why she is a "happy" grandma with a lot of time on her hands? I don't understand your premise, the parents raising teenagers now very likely had working mothers. I was a latch key kid.

Right. Gen Z are looking for an easy way to quick retirement and becoming women of leisure. They are not workhorses with a great work ethic. I expect many of these girls from Gen Z will fail in the 9-5 40 hour workplace. They have different priorities and don’t necessarily believe contributing to the “establishment”/government and society by working all the time is productive or noble. Gen Z do not like to even go outside to pick up groceries or food. They want everything delivered. This is the stay in place and stay home generation. The modern workplace has already done mass firings of Gen Z and they haven’t even been in the workplace or out of school for that long. Covid’s quarantines only made things worse.

Not the Gen Z ladies in college. They worked like dogs to get there and it continues while they are there. These girls are not fooling around.

Working at what? Protesting and activism and gender studies programs? Ok….

So were college students from the 60s and they did just fine. Not sure why you think protesting and activism are new to college campuses? Maybe you should go back and study some history?

Hippies did just fine!? lol

Missed it, what do men want?

All men want the same thing, do you really need to ask?

You’re back again!
They want your petty non-responses and riddles!

Dear God not most people I know, whose grandmothers got through their days drugged to the gills and alcoholic. Weird idealization of a past that didn’t exist.

+1. Not sure some of the posters on here actually have met some of these college students. Many are well ahead of where I was at that age. They have been through lots of the material we had in college in highschool. They seem to hit the ground running when they get to campus, work real jobs during college summers and come out with good job offers.

This is not our grandma's college. They have struggles but they have way better coping support and knowledge then we did. We just self medicated with alcohol.

Thank goodness for their strength and fortitude because these students are the future. they have their work cut out for them.

What universities or majors are you seeing act like the above?

There was a lot of information available about how to get an education and how to make it pay. Go find it and if you're smart, you're not going to get it from an anonymous chat forum.

And again.

Make a claim, then don’t back it up, post a riddle non-response.

Lemme guess, your misguided but out of energy mom thought this maladaptive response pattern of yours was cute and clever. Jokes on you.

What industry, universities or majors do you see the above happening?

You claim to have met them and you claim they are “way ahead of you at that age”. Whatever that means.

Liberal college educated white women suck the fun out of every.single.thing and make a big dramatic deal out of every.single.thing. It is annoying AF. Even to me. Imagine how a working class guy feels.

-their child rearing ideas are annoying AF and filter into our schools & children’s activities. Constantly harping and focusing on sugar, diversity, the environment, fairness, ZOMG Larlo’s dad served peanut butter!!!! blah blah. They have a fit if you give their kid a cookie for birthday or team snack. Fun suck.

-constant focus on racial issues and DEI that even people of the supposed “discriminated race or gender” do not EVEN REMOTELY agree with. Taking offense to silly jokes or language that even people of the “discriminate race or gender” think are funny. And they think you are annoying, a PITA, and all “Karens”

-ruining assorted cultural celebrations with your BS and whining

-weird ideas about gender and sexuality that no one actually agrees with at all

-anti Christian nonsense. I’m a freaking atheist and annoyed by the “it’s a WINTER party, not a Christian party” BS. Who cares?!

- hysteria surrounding Donald Trump. I do not like him either, but he is not Hitler, sexist, racist etc.

- obsession with gay and transgender issues

-horrendous ideas about public education in general

-COVID obsession and germaphobia that lasted for years and severely damaged public education

-censorship and/or attempted censorship

I could do this all day long and list approximately 50 more things. You are no fun and ruin so many things, judgy and annoying, whiny AF, overdramatic and so much more. Most people largely want to be left alone and do not want to listen to constant lectures and finger wagging- and have long ago lost patience with you.

Take a look in the mirror.

Well said. I used to be an Obama voting liberal. These people make me want to buy a truck and adorn it with a fake ballsack, or go work for ICE or something. Absolutely repellent.

Sure you voted for Obama-we believe you

I voted for Obama and was a huge Democrat just like my parents. All my friends were Democrats, and I fully believed in hope and change when I voted in 2008.

After I met DH, I gradually became more and more conservative. I have to tell you it's amazing how much more fun I have now.

Yeah. Hating on people is fun.

Yup I bet her DH has fun treating her like she's beneath him too-good little lap dog.

Not really. In the end, Trump still won on a very tiny margin (one of the tiniest in the past 60 years), still the majority of POC didn't vote for him even though the percentages shifted right. The percentage shift mathematically seems more related to losing votes entirely (people not voting) than more people shifting votes to Trump. Many didn't vote for Harris over the Israeli/Palestine war, right or wrong on that one. That isn't an endorsement of Trump or MAGA policies.

This.
And it’s not just about in the workplace.
There is a move to change social mores about women’s choices over their bodies.
See recent cabinet nominees with sexual assault allegations. If it’s ok for “leaders” then it will become ok for certain men (white).

Civilization has controlled women for millennia. There are two ways to look at that history. All civilizations were cruelly and unnecessarily harming women, or those civilizations understood that to thrive and grow, they needed to reduce women's influence.

Honestly, based on the way things have gone since 1971 (when women were happier), I'm starting to wonder.

I think it’s both. They needed to reduce women’s influence to thrive and grow in a way that favors men, and if ever the balance got out of whack, they remembered that they’re physically stronger and resorted to cruel and unnecessary harm.
