Most overrated international destination?

The Louvre is not overrated.

Disagree. The volume of paintings is kind of overwhelming, especially since most are unremarkable. Seeing the Mona Lisa (and all the people crowding to take pictures) was unexciting, though the painting across the room (depicting the wedding at Cana) is a masterpiece.

I enjoyed Orsay a lot more, which has an extraordinary collection of well-known impressionist paintings.

Las Vegas.

Maybe I just hate fake desert cities!

Palm Springs too.

Love Muscat and Tucson, though.

Loved Dubai - awesome sightseeing and awesome food.
Loved Vegas too.

So you’re a tacky person I take it?

Or previously reliable eats are now going downhill fast. We are seeing it everywhere.

Orsay is lovely and manageable, but to say the works in the Louvre are unremarkable speaks of great ignorance. It’s understandable not to enjoy a museum because you don’t care for that particular type of art, and being overwhelmed by sheer volume is a turn off for many people (even art connoisseurs), but to say the Louvre has unremarkable art is just wrong. Please educate yourself and move a little beyond the brief era of Impressionists.

You can disagree with someone without calling them ignorant. Maybe you never learned that in school.

The Louvre has like 5,000 paintings. Most are not that well-known and are largely forgettable. I wish they would focus on the fraction that are among the most famous artworks instead of bundling everything together in a somewhat unsightly manner.

I disliked Seville. I didn’t get why people go there. I loved Barcelona though.

I also found Lisbon overrated, and Costa Rica.

Orsay is cool but it’s craaaazy to say the Louvre is overrated. Nike of Samothrace and Venus de Milo are there!

Everyone was nice, but I definitely have no desire to return. The rainforest/jungles in Peru were way better IMO, and the beaches are better just about everywhere in the US.

We’re the oldest and greatest country on the earth, we have the highest standard of living, and we’ve never lost a war, we can judge whoever we want!

Some of this is opinion but OLDEST? Not even close!

I think it was sarcasm, but let’s not erase the Native American history either. Still not the oldest, but not as young as people think either.

We have been a democracy since 1776, every man and woman has been able to vote for nearly 250 years! Some countries like France and Germany still have a king!
