Disagree.  The volume of paintings is kind of overwhelming, especially since most are unremarkable.  Seeing the Mona Lisa (and all the people crowding to take pictures) was unexciting, though the painting across the room (depicting the wedding at Cana) is a masterpiece.

Orsay is lovely and manageable, but to say the works in the Louvre are unremarkable speaks of great ignorance. It’s understandable not to enjoy a museum because you don’t care for that particular type of art, and being overwhelmed by sheer volume is a turn off for many people (even art connoisseurs), but to say the Louvre has unremarkable art is just wrong. Please educate yourself and move a little beyond the brief era of Impressionists.[/quote]
