Agreed. I think the administration is forgetting what brought fame and academic prestige to their school in the first place. Without football in its past, ND would not be anywhere near its quality today. |
Hahahaha nice try. It really doesn’t matter though does it? ND has been and will continue to be top 20 with some of the brightest students in the country. You cannot deny that lol. And at least the expectations of its athletes are among the highest in the country as well and they still compete at a high level. Just amazing!! |
Wrong. No such rumor about that. He was supposed to take a course his senior year and did not comply. ND and ND football will be fine. |
He was missing a foreign language requirement that was met at all of the other schools. ND is outdated and doesn’t accept ASL as many other schools do. |
+1 Football has certainly made it a household name, particularly in Catholic communities. Even people who didn’t go to college cheer on the Fighting Irish. |
I applied. Got in. Didn’t go. Wouldn’t bother applying today. - not Catholic, but grew up in Catholic community |
My kid is a non-Catholic Asian.
Doing great with very optimistic future. Nobody cares about bigot haters. |
One thing I have noticed as the parent of three current/past college students in different schools is that ND clearly has the most friendly and welcoming environment among students and their families. It is always a lot of fun to visit my DC on campus, especially for home games. |
Everyone who's breathing and can pay tuition. |

Without football, Notre Dame would be just another Catholic university located outside a depressed city. |
|
Gotta admit, the football makes for a really fun and exciting campus life. That combined with the excellent academics is part of why it is such a desirable school. So many want to be there but they can't take them all!! Blessed that my kid is there!!! |

I remember this scandal from just a few years ago: https://nypost.com/2016/11/22/notre-dame-football-punished-for-cheating-scandal/ High standards are great, when they’re actually enforced. ND isn’t holier than thou in that regard, although they periodically pretend to be. That is until they’re caught. |
