Then they sound like a pretty shitty virologist and immunologist. Sorry. |
I’ll take a virologist and immunologist knowledge over your “knowledge.” Not sorry. |
Interested in your credentials. Will you share please? |
That parent is teaching his kids how to be afraid of germs rather than live in the real world. No doubt the entire family is vaxxed and they are now of extremely low risk now, but the lesson to the kids is "be afraid anyway". Sad and pathetic. |
Interesting. He really said that avoiding exposure to any and all respiratory viruses for the rest of one's life makes no difference in one's immunity to them if one were to encounter one decades down the road? Is that how the question was posed? |
No comments? No one wants actual facts? |

From another thread:
https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/coronavirus/dashboard/ "Been tracking 4 cases and higher at schools. Normally the list is only 10 to 20 schools long. MCPS data 4/19/22 reported 812 new cases in the past 10 days and 313 active quarantines. At this time, 41% of MCPS schools (86 out of 209) schools have 4 or more infections and 17 have 10 or more infections in the past 10 days. (Note that last week and this Monday was Spring break, so the last 10 days is really just yesterday and today?)" |
116 percent of a small number is still a small number. |
That always happens. Silence. I posted the Maryland numbers above too and no one responded. I don't think most of these posters are actual people, because they never engage with presented with facts. They are just trolls trying to stir the pot. |
State of Maryland posts school numbers and there are some very high numbers. |
That question was never asked. Someone posted that after in an attempt to make it sound like that was the conversation. Never was. |
Your immune system is still being taxed in a mask. There are other viruses, like stomach bugs, that are much more transmissable via surfaces. We've been hit with one despite masking for COVID. Same with other colds - we've gotten them despite being diligent about masking. |
So what was the question then? I thought we were talking about those people who say they will keep wearing an N95 forever so they never catch Covid, influenza, or a cold. The PP who quoted the immunologist-spouse of her virologist-neighbor responded specifically to the question whether "eliminating all exposures to respiratory viruses for the rest of a young adult's life was a good idea". That is the same question as whether "avoiding exposure to any and all respiratory viruses for the rest of one's life makes no difference in one's immunity to them if one were to encounter one decades down the road", and I was just double-checking if the immunologist-spouse was really asked this question. |
Sure, but you are not building immunity to evolving respiratory viruses. |
