A teacher tells the class that White people hurled insults atJackie Robinson. They get ‘reported’ for not saying ‘some’ people and that “hurled” is too strong a word. This is why the whole idea is crazy.

I hope teachers quit over this nonsense. Virginia, be prepared for the implosion of your public school system if that happens.

The only nonsense here is that the PP made up some stupid example and you fell for it. Oops.

Narrator: The GOP WANTS the implosion of the public school system.

No, but if overtly political teachers chose to quit it wouldn't be a tragedy.

Bingo. Buh-bye.

You will be persecuting dozens of nonpolitical teachers who teach legitimate history, literature, etc. that may be uncomfortable to some delusional parents for every actually politically inappropriate teacher you find. There are much better ways to protect students institutionally. A state-sponsored teacher persecution hotline is not something any honorable Governor would do.

DP. Don't be stupid. Your hyperbole looks ridiculous. No one is "persecuting" anyone, and certainly not good teachers who keep their personal politics out of the classroom.

"overtly political teachers"

Like the ones who extol Trumpism in the classroom?
Or the ones who call the Civill War the "war of northern aggression"

Let's talk about teachers with political agendas.

Nope. Are you new here? You make a claim, you provide the links. But you can’t because you’re a liar.

There have been many links provided in this thread. You have chosen to ignore them.

Zero links about John Lewis and Ruby Bridges being "banned." But you know that. Keep up the good fight (aka narrative)!

I have never, EVER heard of a teacher doing this - but certainly, any teacher braying about their own personal political beliefs should be reported - at the very least to the school administration. Do you have an actual (REAL LIFE) example of a teacher doing the above? We'll wait.

Another FCPS survey was given today. I have the screenshot but can't paste it here, so I'll just summarize. Nothing terrible, just so ridiculous and unnecessary. And as always, focused on race and ethnicity.

Do you have positive relationships with any of these adults in your school? Mark all that apply:

The principal or assistant principal
A teacher
My counselor
The School Resource Officer (SRO)
The School Security Officer (SSO)
An adult that shares my racial, ethnic, or cultural background
An adult that does not share my racial, ethnic, or cultural background
I do not have a positive relationship with any adult at this school

Stop your theatrical pretense at being offended. There are 8 choices--only two that refer to race/ethnicity so saying "as always, focused on race and ethnicity" is an exaggeration. The question is very clear--do you have any positive relationships with adults in your school. Given how many kids have mental health issues and the importance of these issues being recognized by an adult in the school setting, that seems like a reasonable question. For some kids, someone from their own racial/ethnic/cultural background may be the best person to make a connection to. What's wrong with that? Go away and find a real problem to focus on.

Talk about "theatrical pretense at being offended." ^^ Settle down. It is merely *another* in a long list of "equity-lens" BS coming out of FCPS. But then again, I guess it does give the Chief Equity Officer something to do.

Find a better example of "equity-lens BS." This one is not a good one.

You are just lazy because it supports your obliviousness.

This group in Arizona want to ban “March” by John Lewis, supposedly because it has racial slurs and violence. That’s a bullshit excuse to ban teaching about what Southern police and mobs did to to civil rights activists.

This group in Tennessee want to ban Ruby Bridges and other books that tell about the people who yelled and cursed and spit and threw rocks at black kids going to school.

Plus Texas has a list of 850 books som Republicans want removed and banned from school libraries, almost all either about black issues or LGBTQ issues. School libraries are removing the books even though it’s not required just to avoid having crazy parents coming after them.

Yes, I do have an example, but that teacher has already been removed due to committing a crime. But I'm not going to use the school administration to complain anymore because we have this great new state snitch site that sounds like it will be more effective. /s

I don’t understand your objection to this. Do you not think it's important for kids to have positive relationships with adults? Do you think it’s not important to know? Do you not think it matters if kids don’t see someone like themselves in roles of authority?

Note the person says “Trumpism”. Any viewpoint that doesn’t fall in line with leftist thinking is Trumpism now
