Another FCPS survey was given today. I have the screenshot but can't paste it here, so I'll just summarize. Nothing terrible, just so ridiculous and unnecessary. And as always, focused on race and ethnicity. Do you have positive relationships with any of these adults in your school? Mark all that apply: The principal or assistant principal A teacher My counselor The School Resource Officer (SRO) The School Security Officer (SSO) An adult that shares my racial, ethnic, or cultural background An adult that does not share my racial, ethnic, or cultural background I do not have a positive relationship with any adult at this school
Stop your theatrical pretense at being offended. There are 8 choices--only two that refer to race/ethnicity so saying "as always, focused on race and ethnicity" is an exaggeration. The question is very clear--do you have any positive relationships with adults in your school. Given how many kids have mental health issues and the importance of these issues being recognized by an adult in the school setting, that seems like a reasonable question. For some kids, someone from their own racial/ethnic/cultural background may be the best person to make a connection to. What's wrong with that? Go away and find a real problem to focus on.
 Talk about "theatrical pretense at being offended." ^^ Settle down. It is merely *another* in a long list of "equity-lens" BS coming out of FCPS. But then again, I guess it does give the Chief Equity Officer something to do.
Find a better example of "equity-lens BS." This one is not a good one.
