So this kid didn't make the CYA team?

CYA has a long history of that. The current basketball board over has a few card carrying white supremacists. Investigate them if you are so curious and you will find what your looking for.

Why don't you provide the proof since you are the one making crazy accusations?

What type of proof do you want? It’s a fact that CYA is known for this. You seem kind of defensive.

I just happened to read a post about a guy who pulled his kid from CYA and I happen to know of multiple people in the basketball community who have done the same thing to get away from the bs that goes on over there. My son goes to school with these kids, plays sports, and is friends with them. I’m just just sharing what I know and contributing facts to the thread.

McLean travel is no dynasty losing 2 of 3 games in a league that isn’t even AAU.

I’m not 100% but I think The Burmudez kid got cut last year and if he didn’t he didn’t like the politics and went to play somewhere else. This year he probably didn’t even try out for CYA. Again, the coaches aren’t good, the teams aren’t ran or chosen right. He and his dad know enough about basketball not to f with an organization like that and find a real team to play with.

Looks like the topic may have even been discussed in this forum before. Maybe this guy has something.

He did try out for CYA. I saw him at the tryout this year. I don’t know anything about cya politics but my kid didn’t make the team either.

Idk. Looks like quite a few people chiming in with different examples.

There was kid named Ryan who is good enough to play on any AAU team around who didn’t make the team. He’s played PBL and is better than any kid CYA has in that age group, but got cut. If he can’t make the team, there is politics involved.

Is he playing for McLean too?

Is the McLean Assistant coach still with CYA AAU? Is there bad blood between him and the CYA Travel organization?

Or the same policies and practices going on at CYA.

I would think the CYA travel and the CYA AAU people would all be the same people. The kids on their winter teams are pretty much the same kids who played on their spring/summer AAU teams.

No offense but you're actually not sharing "what you know and contributing facts". Still no mention of any specific examples of what you've seen. Don't have any dog in this fight but you can't blame an entire organization and just say they're "known for this"... More specific proof points helpful if you're trying to convince others issue truly exists...

And those other threads were mainly complaining about referees making calls in favor of certain teams - doesn't have much to do with organization or coaches...
